The sheep always look ridiculous this time of year when their winter coats are shedding. Also, Mae’s stomping her foot because she stepped in fire ants. We feel ya, girl. #katahdinsheep
We got a huge amount of colors from Earth Pigments and got to test them out yesterday. They haven’t fully dried yet so their hues are still liable to change but for now they all look gorgeous. Now the arduous task of deciding which ones. #strawbalehouse
Cleaned out the kale bed for spring beets and passed the stalks to the sheep. #sheepapproved
Up the Brussels sprout bean stalk we go! We’ll have these, rutabagas, turnips, cauliflower, broccoli, and lots of greens for @washington_farmers_market
Getting Brussels Sprouts ready for @athensfarmersmarket and @washington_farmers_market
Moving the sheep to fresh pasture on this beautiful day.
Say hello to our new washing station. Potatoes, beets, carrots ... it’s cut out half the time we used to spend washing veggies. #barrelwasher
Three days ago this was the Spring Garden. All those stalks were big kale, collards, broccoli etc. The sheep have decimated it. We’ll give them gardens that have finished up only when that garden in particular won’t be growing anything for a year.
Allie & little ones in the tall grass. #katahdinsheep
Those last two lambs that came up belong to Allie. #katahdinsheep #katahdinlambs
There’s no telling what toy they’re going to love.
Don’t know if we’re getting better at this or if Mae’s just particularly easygoing.
We’re still getting a hang of the whole balance thing. 😅👍
