The Waterbury Arts Fest is proud to feature some of Vermont’s most talented artists! On Saturday, July 13, Pilgrim Park will be transformed into a wonderful arts market with incredible artworks from a very talented lineup of artists, crafters, and makers. Be sure to walk the whole event because you won’t want to miss a thing!

Amongst all the art, we also believe food is an art and we take all our art seriously at the Waterbury Arts Fest! Each year, we try to bring a variety of flavors to the table, all with a focus on fresh and local, and this year will be no exception!

I knew my German native language had tons of unique words that Americans adopted for lack of having an own, e.g. “Zeitgeist” or “Fahrgefühl”.

I had no idea we had a word describing exactly what I feel when walking across the 5 acres of wooded land at our Villa Ausblick… it’s called “Waldeinsamkeit”.

🌲Waldeinsamkeit is a German word describing the feeling of solitude and connection to nature when alone in the forest.

🏕️ Waldeinsamkeit isn’t just a word, it’s a state of being, enjoyed by tens of millions of Germans every year.

🌳 Germany is paradise for nature lovers. The right to explore nature is so valued that access to open landscapes, uncultivated land, forests, and bodies of water is protected by law in the “Betretungsrecht” or “freedom to roam”.

My day in reverse order… I found this Connect 4 game, which I thought would make for a great addition in our game room. I built a wooden frame for better mounting, then decided that the wall needed painting after 20 years, ended up painting half the game room. … but no one is here to play with !!!
