People frequently ask me questions because they are trying to understand how I can do what it is i do as an artist. This explains it pretty well. I hope this help them understand. I'll be posting it in my booth.

Artists are known to be weird, strange, eccentric, over the top non conformists who dance to the beat of a different drummer.
Gypsy artists who wander the shows also tend to be very free spirited.
They talk to fairies. They can be seen dancing and playing like children and they often loose their shoes somewhere along the way.
Their hair is pulled by the moon and the stars, leading them here and there. They wander off to chase butterflies. They have messy hair. Paint splatters happen even on good clothes. Organization is not in their vocabulary. Good naturedness is.
Artists see the world through rose colored glasses. They see colors brighter. They feel happy the way a child does. Artists feel at a different level. They connect with unseen forces they can't always explain. They believe in fairies. They believe in moonbeams. Rain is a reason to play. The gentle winds whisper to them in a language no one ever wrote down.
Artists dream in color. They live a magic that touches them deeply. Their passion can only be felt, never explained. There is no point in trying really.
Gypsy artists do not know how to conform to normal society. They can't fit inside the box others create for them because it doesn't exist where they are. So if my behavior makes you wonder if I'm crazy maybe to you I am. To me, I am only living my life as myself and accepting others as themselves. I can't conform. It makes my hair hurt. I can't behave by societies rules because they do not apply to me. I am not lost though I do wander. I wander because my soul is free. I wander to bring you my beautiful creations. They are a part of me. They are a piece of the magical moon, sprinkled with fairy dust and they are more than they appear to the human eye. Inside my creations are blessings and best wishes for you and yours. Hidden inside are thoughts and dreams I bring to you from the world of the creative. They are gypsy treasures. They hold the songs of the night. Enjoy them for they will keep you well. They are my deepest longing to create and share with the world a place we shouldn't try to understand. The mind and creations of the artist is to be appreciated, not understood.
Enjoy your day. Enjoy your life. Dance in the rain. Smell the flowers. Gaze at the moon and stars. Go barefoot. Believe in yourself and your dreams. They are your soul telling you where you belong.

Through the eyes of an artist.
This chair is just the sort of thing that my family will ALWAYS wrinkle their noses at me for. It's FIREWOOD is what I am told. HA.... I've heard that before. MWAHAHAHAHAHA.......... I found the table in pieces, the windows were just old and dirty, thats two wall cabinets that were in my grandma's kitchen, OLD 1800 doors I drug home, that corbel was once a table leg, another old wall cabinet, how about an old watering tank with a rusted out bottom, old junk porch railing/pieces, an old broken ladder, an old suitcase, a wobbly old BEAT UP dresser.
Just a few examples of other things I was told were "Garbage/Firewood/Scrap". EVEN MY HOUSE. Although I may be OLD like dirt when it's finally finished I will never believe it should be burned to the ground so we can start over. They just have no vision.
They leave me unattended and THIS is what happens. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Introducing Juliette. This lil suitcase has been around awhile but now has a new life as storage. Shabby chic and repurposed suitcase all done up in Paris gray and white. French stencils adorn this gorgeous little treasure box. Fill with keepsakes or office supplies. She's just adorable. (My Aunt Kathy actually gasped when she saw it. Followed by an Ooooohhhh....)
All Paints are NON toxic, NO harsh chemicals in my sealers and you won't have to wax it ever unlike the chalky finished paints with wax this has a water based sealer that will last and last. Clean with a damp rag and maybe a bit of soap if you happen to spill on it.
Delivery to West Union/New Hampton/Decorah/Waterloo and surrounding areas available. For $60- All Frenched Up can be all yours.
