Does it get any cuter than this? We aren’t your typical chicken hatchery. Our breeding system isn’t for pure breed big hatchery chicken production like most are. It’s beautiful colored eggs and beautiful chickens that are spoiled and loved.

So proud of our girls for showing for the first time here in Texas! Our oldest daughter placed 3rd with her Ungerer Show Stock Market Goat!
It was a long HOT day and all the kiddos did amazing keeping their animals cool and hydrated.

🐐Timmy our pet boer goat gave our youngest a hug this morning. Training her show goat to walk is hard work. He’s her moral support. 💙
🏡You can meet him and many other pet farm animals such as peacock, potbelly pig, turkeys, chickens, Nigerian dwarf goats, livestock guardian dogs, guinea fowl, ducks, baby chicks and kittens here at Double H!

🧊🐓Today we made our chickens some electrolyte water with a few treats in it. It’s important to keep all livestock hydrated with the heat we’re having. The heat index has reached 110 for a couple weeks. We replace water offen to give them clean cool water as well. (We fill the pans shown below with water)

🚫🌽It’s important NOT to give much corn (or scratch which contains a high amount of corn) as it raises their body temperature. I know there are a lot of things floating around about freezing corn for treats but it’s much better to give berries / fruit (still in limited quantities.)

With this many cute animals right outside it’s hard to get much done besides give them love and attention… and bring them inside for treats! ❤️

🫙🥒Keep an eye out if you’re planning to can pickles etc. To ensure safe canning you need to use 5% acidity. Some brands are changing it to 4%.
