What can I say Petra did not disappoint. It was worth the 30,000 steps to go past the Treasury, to the Monastery, and even further to see the views to Palestine. I won’t deny it was a pretty big challenge for me in the Jordan heat in June.
If you love to hike and want a good challenge, this is for you. Maybe not in June during a heat wave tho 😊
Then we were lucky enough to be treated to Petra lights at night. Perfect end to a bucket list day.

Petra is a famous archaeological site in Jordan's southwestern desert. Dating to around 300 B.C., it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Accessed via a narrow canyon called Al Siq, it contains tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the "Rose City." Perhaps its most famous structure is 45m-high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate, Greek-style facade, and known as The Monastery

What an incredible experience we are being provided in Jordan.
We combined to have extra long days in conference learning so we can have free time to explore.TTAND the Jordan Tourist board, and G Adventures are knocking it out of the park. We had set up a traditional Bedouin camp and provided us all the Bedouin dress to keep. Quite the amazing night.
A conference isn’t complete without a gala night. The one day of the year I put a dress on…lol
I feel blessed everyday I took a chance with The Travel Agent Next Door.
Next stop Petra!

P.S We are all soaked under these. Jordan decided to have a heatwave for our visit. Because the Dead Sea is below sea level, it is hotter there. 43 degrees at 6pm. Just a little warm 😊

Arrived safe and sound to Jordan thanks to the fabulous Royal Jordanian Airlines and their roomy Dreamliner.
To start the trip we went right to the Dead Sea. The lowest point on earth that is 35% saltier than any other water body. Did the mud baths and my skin is as smooth as a babies butt. Ended day 1 with a welcome reception white party sponsored by Jordan Tourism Board, and Royal Jordanian Airlines . They are prepared and ready to show us their beautiful country so I can send you on the trip of your dream.

Did you know that travel agents sometimes work and don't get paid? Crazy, right?!

With the demand for travel being at a RECORD HIGH, I ask that my loyal followers to please be respectful of the research, time, and effort that goes into researching & building your vacation.
I do understand that sometimes plans don't work out- budgets change- or you're just in the preliminary stages of getting information organized! Those situations are not a bother-- I'm here for you!! I will send endless quotes to help you find the perfect vacation.

But if you don’t intend to book a trip with a travel agent and are only looking for information- please understand it undermines the value of my small business. A lot of agents now charge planning fees just to quote a trip and I really don’t want my business model to have to change to this.

Why would you pay the same amount (or more!) and receive less service if you book direct? If you value my advice enough to ask for my opinion- then we serve as a valuable resource for your travel investment.

Please remember, we legally cannot legally advise or problem solve for a reservation that is not in our care. This is a liability issue for travel experts that work under PROFESSIONAL errors and omissions insurance.

I truly appreciate my clients, those that have requested information from me, and those that continue to refer clients my way. I hope to partner with your family for future vacations!

Playa Mujeras just north of Cancun.
This area is gone to a stretch of new resorts, quiet area away from the hussle of Cancun. Sargassum is less of an issue here because the island of Isla Mujeras is out front and blocks a lot of it from coming to shore.
