Our Story

Lovely Green Tranquility was borne out of a desire to create a tranquil, eco-conscious environment that feels like an escape from daily life. Mindful, earth-friendly practices were exercised throughout all renovations of this 1970’s home, ranging from creative reuse of materials, to sustainable choices like the bamboo flooring seen throughout the kitchen and laundry, to the no-VOC paint used in every room and the re-homing of well built and well-loved consignment furnishings. Decor from travels around the world line the walls and each precious piece contains a story within it. As you explore room to room, we wish to evoke a sense of travel and wonder. Where will your curiosity lead you next?!

The verdant forest surrounding the property instills a sense of vitality, freshness and life. You’ll enjoy visits by skinks, small lizards, turtles, orioles, nuthatches, the occasional woodpecker, squirrels, neighborhood dogs...and more, if you keep your eyes open! A stay at Lovely Green Tranquility means a respite from the hustle bustle of daily life and a return to nature. Kick back on the expansive brick patio outside and enjoy conversation by the bonfire!

When you’re ready to explore, Wilmington, the Cape Fear, Intercoastal Waterway and the surrounding beach towns await! I love the actual proximity of everything from this central location yet the feeling that I’m simultaneously distant. The nearest beach access is just around 5 miles away at Wrightsville Beach, downtown Wilmington and all of it’s historic charm is a short 10 minute ride and a wide range of shopping at every price point is just minutes from the house, at Mayfaire Town Center. Coastal attractions, nature activities, and plentiful history await your visit in southeast North Carolina. Come and join us!
