After two short flights from Greensboro, we landed is what is now my favorite Airport. Y’all the Bozeman airport is the cutest!

Our lodge was an hour from the airport but the drive was so beautiful, we didn’t even notice. We checked in and Kevin at the front desk was so friendly and helpful with ideas for our week here.

We settled in, got unpacked and decided to just go for a drive. My favorite thing is all along the highway you can pull over to hangout at the river ang fish, put in a raft or whatever, or just stop and take pictures. There are also campsites and hiking trails everywhere.

We stopped for dinner in Grainer Mt. and chatted with some Bozeman State College who helped us change our plans for today, giving us ideas for new local adventures and hangouts.

So cheers to Day 1… and yahooo!!! Let’s get Day 2 started!

This might be one of my most asked questions...
Why did the quote change? And these are the most common answers!

1. Airfare changes constantly. In fact, it can change within the same day. It is actually a real big pain in the 🍑

2. Resorts increase their prices the for a lot of different reasons. If it is a busy time of year... price goes up. If the resort starts filling up... prices go up! So, guess what... if all of a sudden, a wedding books a big group, and a family reunion, all while you were debating if you wanted to put the deposit down... yeah... your rate is going up. Gosh dang it!!!

3. Deal's don't last forever. And many times, we don't know when they are going to end. It is one way our vendors get us to Sell! Sell! Sell! So... if we tell you there is a killer deal going on... just know it isn't lasting forever. OH... and pre-covid deals... they were just that... Pre-Covid. They don't exist anymore. The travel industry is still trying to re-coop. Last minute travel deals don't exist... don't try to wait for them. You will be sad.

4. You waited too long to respond to the quote. There isn't much to say here. Read 1-3. Love ya... mean it. Read your emails. 😮

5. One piece of the quote sold out, now we need to replace it with something else. And that piece costs more. See #4. or #3. People like traveling. When your TA (that's me) sends you a quote. If you like it... Jump on it. Don't ask for 5 more. At that point, you are missing out on the best deals. Because your TA already found the best one... and sent it to you!

(Now if you don't like it... then ask for another... that's a different story.)

There are so many reasons people are cutting back on gifts and starting to give memories to thier families.

I cannot speak highly of this notion, as the value in spending time with our children and families is endless. I have been lucky enough to be able to take my own kids on some pretty bad ass trips… but they dont always have to be extravagant… but I will say being intentional about getting out of your space and into a different area can be incredible.

You see when we are in our own soace we can tend to get stuck in a routine of what needs to be done. You know what I mean? When we venture out… with out most valuable people, we get the chance to focus on them, adventure with them, because we were not born to live a “grave tending life” we were born to say “What’s next papa!”

So get out there my friends… this world is big, and full of adventure, take your most favorite people and go see it, and so not waste a moment of their lives✈️🧳💜

A recap and a reminder of some of the family amenities:

—The zero-enter/shallow pools they offer at HRV are fabulous for toddlers/little kids! They could play all day while we relaxed a bit without worry they were in danger.

—Kid menus and baby food! Did you know they offer baby food pouches on the menu? (no cost). Friends had a 7 month old and this was a great perk for them.

—Kids Club—while ours were too young to use on their own, it was a fantastic area for the kids to play in during the early morning hours or for a change of pace. I noticed my son playing with the tools and it felt like he got a little reminder of his toys at home. He loved it! I have a full video of the kids club— if you want it—lmk. (Kid club available for kids 4-12 without parents).

—Playground equipment outside at the kids club—also great for a break in the day/morning.

—First floor walk out rooms are perfect for families with kids—nap time/bedtime patio hang out space for parents!! Can request this location— Room types: Deluxe room, Deluxe family room, Deluxe Partial and at the very end we have a one bedroom suite.

—The beach was beautiful and fun for the kids to play in—lots of sand toys at the market next door/onsite —no need to pack —can get items there.

—Food was delicious and we were always able to get snacks.
(We all know snacks is the answer to most things in a toddler’s life) Popsicles served around the pool every afternoon were a hit with the toddlers too.

—Rock Shots—amazing option for families to get pics together. The session is free and you just pay for the pics you want.

Spent a chunk of my morning trying to figure out what my neglected house needs done. Invited NoteWorthy Maintenance & Repair out for their insight. They are a fantastic local handyman group (with a licensed electrician on staff). David was amazing. He walked through and listened to me point things out, and then made a list of what he was going to do, and then told ME how to do some of the other stuff. Because they weren’t concerned with taking all my money… they wanted to HELP.

If you have a To Do list that isn’t getting To Done! Give them a call. Carolyn Stuart Nowotny and her team are simply the best.

Adventure numero uno in San Antonio:
The Alamo.

And I have to admit… I knew very little going in… except that there was a huge battle, and it was a historic site that we had to see. So we braved the cold and went to see it.

I wasn’t expecting the Alamo to be in the very center of San Antonio. And to have quite so much that was so easy to take in on my own. With that being said, this is an easy site to do a lot of self learning. The museum pass is a MUST. Even in the cold, we meandered for about 2 hours, reading, learning, and listening to the exhibits.

Seeing artifacts, wandering through the church, and the walking the grounds.

Appreciative of the people who’ve taken the time to preserve legacy of Alamo, and continue to educate those who visit this place daily.
