The City of Greenville will celebrate the latest amenities at Wildwood Park this week with the grand opening ceremony for the park's new welcome center and playground.

City officials and other partners will gather at the park for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 1, at 5 p.m.

Following the ceremony, attendees will be able to enjoy a variety of activities at the park including food trucks, face painting, bounce houses, water sport activities, lawn games, and a live musical performance by The Dickens Band. The park's new BMX pump track and skills course will also be open for a live stunt show by ProTown BMX.

All activities are free of charge with the exception of the food truck.

Members of the public and the media are invited to attend.

Our Story....

The Mancuso’s moved to Greenville NC from Monessen PA in 1990. Mike had started skateboarding then made the transition to BMX in 1992. As he progressed in his bike skills, several Pro bike riders moved to the area: Tim Mirra, Dave Mirra, and Ryan Nyquist. Mike was able to start traveling the USA doing demos with several stunt teams. Mike started competing and found his passion in Vertical Halfpipe where he won the amateur BMX Vert Title in 1999. He turned Pro in 2000, while also graduating from East Carolina University with B.S.B.A. Loving to travel and passion for riding, he traveled the world competing, doing demos, tours, and outreach events. Greenville NC grew with bike riders too and hosted more than 40 Top Pros during this era! Sports illustrated magazine called Greenville “Sports Town USA” with the cities recreation amenities and all the Top BMX Pro’s living here. In the BMX realm, Greenville was dubbed “ProTown USA” as there were more Pro’s than anywhere else in the world! Mike officially started “Protown BMX” Stunt Team in 2007 where he not only wanted to perform awesome stunts, but also wanted to share positive messages of being able to reach your dreams with his hope and faith in Jesus. In 2010, he launched Protown BMX Camps with sessions in Fall, Winter, Summer and group trips to Camp Woodward in PA. He truly loves sharing his heart for others thru his stunt team and camps. Protown BMX has performed all over the world while his camp has had over 800 participants! While Mike is now in his 27th year of BMX riding, having traveled to over 35 countries, and had at least 30 injuries/surgeries, he continues to keep the dream alive while challenging others to find their life’s passion, and to NEVER GIVE UP! If you at least TRY, you WILL succeed!!
