We know there have been a lot of information floating around recently about EHV-1 neurological strain in our area. There have been confirmed cases at Double W Stables in Gurnee. Our hearts go out to the owners of the horses that are currently ill and the ones that have been lost to the disease.
The virus has only been seen at this one barn and the barn is currently under quarantine. We are all doing our best to keep this disease contained. If we know of any further spread of the disease we will keep you updated.
We all need to be viligant when it comes to bio security measures especially when it comes to horses traveling from barn to barn.
