Tashkent International Airport has completed a large-scale modernization! ✈️✨

What’s new for passengers?
⠀
🔹 The international terminal has expanded from 45,000 m² to 65,000 m².
⠀
🔹 A new 2,500 m² lobby has been created, replacing the area where those greeting departing and arriving passengers once stood in the open air. It’s now equipped with elevators, travelators, and escalators to take you to the check-in area. You can also pack your luggage, buy SIM cards, use ATMs, charge your devices, and even check on small animals in a dedicated room.

🔹 The fence at the terminal entrance has been removed, allowing transport to easily drop off passengers on the first floor.
⠀
🔹 40 check-in desks have been installed in the departure hall, with plans to increase to 90, including 12 hybrid self check-in and baggage drop-off desks for self-service.

🔹 A new green space with benches has been added between the lounge and main terminal for relaxation.
⠀
🔹 The Pax Track passenger monitoring system has been installed and is running in test mode.

From August 25 to 30, Samarkand will host the 13th International Music Festival "Shark Taronalari" (translated as "Melodies of the Orient"). Immerse yourself in a world of music and culture as talents from around the globe gather in Registan Square, including performers from Japan, Indonesia, Poland, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, and other East Asian countries.

"Shark Taronalari" is one of the largest events not only in Uzbekistan but also in Central Asia. The festival is held every two years.

From July 15 to August 15, there will be temporary changes in the train schedule in Tashkent. Almost all passenger trains will depart from and arrive at the Southern Station instead of the Central (Northern) Station. Exceptions include trains from Almaty, as well as those to Novosibirsk, Samara, and Khojikent.

These changes are due to technical repair work on the railway. Both railway station ticket offices will operate around the clock, and three checkpoints will be opened at the Southern railway station.

For your convenience, free buses will be organized from the Central Station to the Southern Station if you accidentally arrive at the wrong location or purchase tickets at the Central (Northern) Station.

"Waiting for you by the clock tower." It's said that every citizen or visitor to Tashkent has, at least once, arranged to meet near the city's clock tower. This romantic site in the heart of the capital not only inspires dates but also hides amazing stories.

It seems the towers have stood by the square forever. However, one of the buildings was actually erected quite recently—in 2009, for Tashkent's 2200th anniversary. It looks like an exact twin of the first tower, only mirrored. If you're a perfectionist and love symmetry, you'll appreciate this beautiful urban ensemble.

The first tower was erected to commemorate the end of the Second World War and first chimed on May 9, 1947, in memory of the Uzbek heroes who didn't return from the front. To this day, the clock chimes every 15 minutes, reminding us of the courage of half a million Uzbek soldiers and marking the countdown to a new, peaceful life.
