Film name: Apaches (Apachen)
Genres: Western
Production: Germany, 1973
Director: Gottfried Kolditz
Starring: Gojko Mitic

🎙 From interview of Gojko Mitic:

«We paid a big importance to historical accuracy. Therefore, even the natural motives that we were looking for for the film "Apaches", we could find in Romania and near Samarkand in Uzbekistan. There the mountains make large shadows, and the galloping horses left behind clouds of dust. Everything was so real there! It only required from us to put couple of cactus in front of the camera - and that's it ... here's New Mexico for you. After some time, the next film "Ulzana" was shot in the same places»

📌 Do you know that German film “Apachen“ was shoot near Samarkand in 1973?

📽 This movie about the noble people of the Apaches, killed by Invaders, which are paid by New Government, in pursuit of the natural resources in their lands, about their brave leader - Ulzana, who pays tribute to the murderers.

💡 How it is connected to Samarkand: a significant filming part took place in Uzbekistan - near Tashkent (Chimgan area) and Samarkand (near the Kitab Pass), where the landscape resembles American prairies and mountain ranges.

⛰ Specially in Samarkand, in the mass shooting part, local residents from the nearest collective farms were involved as "Indians".

📌 Do you know that one of the main resources for last decade of Tamerlane’s life is the book of Rui Gonzales de Clavijo?

🖋 It was written by author, while he travelled to the Court of the Emperor.

🔎 Today traveling to Samarkand and visiting Gur Emir Mausoleum, you may find the name Spanish Envoy as the name of the street nearby, it was honored only after Uzbekistan became Independent.

💡 Spanish author Fernando Martinez Lainez completed the book “Embajada a Samarcanda” based on memories and book of Rui Gonsalez de Clavijo and historical manuscripts.

😎 Dear Friends,

😱 A year ago, none of us knew how our life changes, how different we will observe ourselves and the world around.

🗝 The recent hard times return our true personalities to us; helping to bring back the dreams left in past, but waiting their moment in patience in our mind and soul.

👧🏻 From the childhood, I was very much interested in arts, designing, creativity, and as a result, I was looking for myself in different professions, until I came to tourism. Indeed working in tourism is a creative work, as only those fell in love with their profession may create and succeed in life.

🥰 So, I have met very nice person, who after graduation entered a real life, and I saw a light in her eyes from what she does. That inspired me and I wanted to “conjure” with her a collaboration.
Please, meet Aziza who has inspired and here we are with our small collection of “Ikat Home Design”.

🧵 We want to bring amazing colors of centuries old craft into your houses and show you how Uzbek Ikat can make Classic design even more Classic and stylish.

🙃 Therefore, if any of you will like our work and appreciate ages old Ikat traditions – you most welcome, delivery door to door to any part of the World.

❤️Welcome to our World of Ikat.

📌 State Academic Theater of Opera & Ballet named after Alisher Navoi 📌

🌟 One of the most outstanding monumental buildings of Tashkent Theatre Square is State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. For more than 70 years, this palace of art has been pleasing it’s guests with its external and internal appearance, as well as the performances.

🎩 However, the formation of the theater troupe itself began with the creation in 1926 of the first national ethnographic ensemble. The first Uzbek opera "Buran" (Storm) was staged in 1939 by M.Ahrafi and A.Vasilenko.

💡The theater was designed in 1934 and was built according to the project and under the guidance of academician A.Schusev in collaboration with the national artisans of Uzbekistan. Being an experienced architect, A. Schusev understood that the first building of the theater should be “in modern European style, but decorated in the national style”. It was plan for the synthesis of advanced architecture and national traditions for that time. However, the project was changed and revised several times. The territory of the former Voskresensky (Sunday) Bazaar was chosen for construction of the theater. This place was once one of the dirtiest places in the city. According to Architects plan, "the dirtiest place in the city will soon become the most beautiful".

⚒ The construction started in 1939, but in 1942, due to the outbreak of World War II, all works were suspended. In 1944, construction was re-opened and work continued. After the war, about 25 thousand Japanese prisoners of war were deported from the Far East to Uzbekistan and about 400 of them worked at this construction site, as evidenced by the plaque on the side facade.
The construction of the Opera and Ballet Theater finished in 1947, and it coincided with the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the birth of the great scholar, poet and writer, founder of Uzbek literature, Alisher Navoi and the theater was named after the great poet.

👉 Now there are two troupes are working on the stage of the theater: Opera (in Russian, Uzbek and Italian) and Ballet.

😎 Dear Friends,

🗝 Today we will visit with you the green city of Shakhrisabz, the hometown of the Great Amir Timur, who inscribed his name into the World history for centuries.

🌟 Once upon a time there was a magnificent palace, which had no equal in all his Empire, unfortunately now very little is left of it, but even now it impresses our imagination.

👉 Our journey to Shakhrisabz goes through the Takhtakaracha mountain pass, which is very picturesque and breathtaking from some views. On the way we stop to visit a small colorful bazaar where you can buy mountain herbs, dry fruits, snacks and home made honey.

🚘 For safety reasons only small cars are allowed to go through the pass, groups that arrive in large numbers go bypass, and it takes extra 2hours. We strongly recommend that you arrange cars to see the stunning nature along the way and thus save time on the move!

🍿Enjoy watching!

📌 Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis

💡 The name of ensemble “Shakhi-Zinda” - “the Living King” is connected with the burial complex, where the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad - Kussam ibn Abbas was buried.

🔎 The mausoleum, built in the middle of 11th century over this grave, served as the core of Shakhi Zinda Necropolis. Subsequently, during the reign of Amir Timur, Mirzo Ulugbek and other Timurids, the mausoleums and other religious buildings were constructed. The ensemble had been forming through nine (11- 19) centuries.

🗝 The door made of elm wood, leading to the complex, was made by craftsman Yusuf Sherazi in 1403-1405. A beautiful two-plane carving remained on the doors; the ivory inlay remained in some places. A quote on the door says that the gates of heaven are wide open for people.

🌙 “Shadi Mulk-aga" mausoleum is called as the pearl of “Shakhi- Zinda" ensemble. It was built in 1372 under the order of Timur’s sister, Turkan-aga. They built this mausoleum for her daughter, who died timelessly. A quote framing the entrance reads: “That is the garden where the treasure of the world is buried. That is the tomb, in which the pearl was lost; here lies the one whose figure is similar to the figure of a cypress"

🌟 “And hiding the secret of eternity, like a distant star in the sky, Shakhi Zinda stands mysteriously flickering with blue!"

📌 Gur Emir Mausoleum

💡Gur Emir – The Family Vault of the Timurids Dynasty. The complex was founded by the first and beloved Grandson of Tamerlane Muhammad Sultan, and after his tragic death, The Great Warlord ordered to bury him at same complex, next to the tomb of the Saint Said Umar from the earlier times.

⚒ Architects and masters from all around the Empire took part in construction, and as a result, today we have one of the most beautiful construction of Tamerlane in the world.

🔎 In fact, by constructing the Mausoleum for Muhammad Sultan, Tamerlane established future Timurids Mausoleum. Since he died in winter on the way to his dream to China, away from Samarkand in Otrar of Kazakhstan, it took some time to transfer his body to his homeland. Moreover, decision of the family and military generals was to bury him in his Capital, instead of Shakhrisabz, where Tamerlane as by his wish supposed to be buried around family representatives. Since the Mausoleum turned into the Family Burial site, next generations of Timurids put efforts to make it more significant and important. Especially under Mirzo Ulugbek – the great astronomer, Mausoleum changed its planning and decoration.

📍There are number of tombs, including two people not from the family, representatives of the religion. But all the other members are the Timurids, which made significant changes in the World history.

🙌 You are welcome to visit Gur Amir Mausoleum in Samarkand, to see the power of the Tamerlane and the beauty left as treasury to the humanity.
