Travelers to the U.S. Virgin Islands, please take note. The USVI is an American territory. We are on US soil. So new CDC requirements concerning international travel do not apply for travel between our islands and the U.S. mainland. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Submit an approved COVID-19 test result to usvitravelportal.com (taken within five days of travel) and get cleared to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
2. No COVID-19 test is required to return to the U.S. mainland, unless the state you are traveling to has specific COVID-19 testing requirements in place.

Sea turtles take in a LOT of salt water when they eat, but it doesn’t stay in their bodies! Instead, they have large, specialized glands located by their eyes, which are responsible for excreting salt into their surroundings at concentrations higher than the water around them, serving as a highly protective tool.

With lengthy gestation periods, manatee moms are pregnant with their young for an average of an entire year and take care of their young for several years after birth. That not only results in an incredible bond between mother and calf, but also some adorable manatee family photos you’ve probably seen across the internet!
