7 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT HALONG BAY IN SPRING (2)

4. Not too crowded
With Vietnam’s tourism peaking in fall, a holiday in Halong Bay around spring provides a less crowded atmosphere, making ventures off the boat and into the water all the more immersive. On a clear day, you can feel as though you have this ancient seascape all to yourself.

5. More affordable
Due to the lack of tourism, prices are often lower than other times of the year, making some options more affordable.

6. Halong Carnival
Landing in April each year, Halong Carnival is the biggest festival in Halong, with a colorful, vibrant atmosphere, thousands of actors, dancers, singers, musicians and students, most of whom are Halong residents.

7. Optimal time for activities
Warming up after the winter chill, spring offers a comfortable temperature, not too hot, nor too cold. This creates the perfect climate for Halong’s many outdoor activities, including rock climbing, biking, kayaking or hiking, all of which you can enjoy even if there’s a sprinkling of rain.

7 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT HALONG BAY IN SPRING (P1)

1. Picturesque scenery
Halong Bay is an explosion of beauty and charm in spring, where orchids bloom and nature flourishes. The air is fresh and sweet, the scenery is breath-taking, and the temperature is perfect. The weather itself creates an ominous yet alluring mist that sweeps through the bay and fills the ancient cave systems, creating a spectacular display at dawn and dusk.

2. More daylight hours
One of the major appeals for anyone hoping to get off the sun lounger and into the bay itself is the joy of spring’s increased daylight hours. This gives you more time to get out in the water before watching the sun set over the limestone karsts. March and April receive the most daylight hours of any month in Vietnam, with eight hours of sunlight a day, so don’t miss out.

3. Not too hot
While Halong Bay’s tourism may peak in fall, it tends to drop in the summer, when the weather is at its hottest and stickiest. In spring, however, the climate is optimal, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 24 degrees Celsius and a lot less humidity, though there are high chances of a light, but consistent, drizzle.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HA LONG BAY?

Spreading on an area of approximately 1,553 km2 including 1,969 islets, most of Halong Bay are limestone topped with thick jungle vegetation rising from the ocean.
Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered as one of the most popular travel destinations in Vietnam visited by millions, both by local and foreign tourists. Soaring limestone formations with rich fauna and flora are the usual sight when visiting the bay. Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, this natural wonder is joined by two other similar bays, Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, both of which are visited as well by other cruise companies and fall under two provinces, Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong Province.
The name Ha Long was derived from the Sino-Vietnamese language, meaning the descending dragon. Legend says that when Vietnam had just begun to develop as a country, the locals had to fight against a group of invaders. The gods from the skies then sent dragons to assist the Vietnamese people with the fighting. From there, the family of dragons started spitting jewels and jade unto the ocean, which eventually became the islands and islets formed that blocked the invaders from entering the territories.
After winning the war against the invaders, the dragons decided to live in the bay with the purpose of creating a peaceful environment for the Vietnamese people. This is where the legend was born. The area wherein the mother dragon descended was then called Ha Long, the place where the dragon’s children descended was then called Bai Tu Long, and the area in which the dragon's tails wiggled was then called Bach Long Vy.

4 REASONS TO A HA LONG CRUISE

--------------------------------------
Ha Long Cruises Come in All Shapes and Sizes

While many travelers prefer the vivid and lively atmosphere of big vessels outfitted with onboard piano bars and spa, others would select an intimate ship with an upscale ambiance and personalized experience. Luckily, Ha Long has all those types of vessels. Paradise Elegance Cruise was designed to carry out 31 Deluxe cabins when Paradise Peak Cruise only 8 suites.

Ha Long Ships Provide Multiple Onboard Activities

Today's cruise ships are designed to keep everyone entertained. Want to pamper yourself at the spa while your spouse hits the bar? Or lounge in the sun reading a book while your family enjoys kayaking. You can go to a cooking class, a wine tasting, or a martial art session, and a live music session. And if all you want to do is nothing while the ship sails from port to port you can do that, too.

Ships Are Floating Cities

If you're concerned about being stranded in the middle of the ocean, relax. Cruise ships are like floating cities with everything you could possibly want onboard. Today's vessels are outfitted with Wi-Fi, cell service, and satellite TV so you can stay in touch with the real world during your cruise (if you even want to). Onboard shops sell the toiletries you forgot to pack, medical centers can provide meds or doctor's services if needed, and laundry facilities let you wash your clothes mid-cruise so you don't need to over-pack. Of course, there's also the fun stuff like gyms, multiple restaurants, movie screens, spas. And in the rare emergency, there are always enough lifeboats for everyone on board.

Ha Long Cruise Ships Offer a Variety of Excursions

More importantly, a cruise vacation allows you to unpack and get settled in your cabin without the hassle of having to move your belongings as you generally would when you’re visiting multiple tourist attractions. There's nothing more annoying than just getting settled into a hotel, and then having to pack up everything once again, all in the name of visiting the next destination.
