VIETNAM NAMED ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD FOR 2024

Vietnam has been honored as one of the 40 most beautiful countries in the world for 2024, according to a ranking by the prestigious U.S. magazine, US News & World Report.

The ranking was based on a survey of over 17,000 travelers and expert evaluations from global professionals. Countries were scored on a 100-point scale across various criteria.

Vietnam proudly secured the 36th position, excelling in several key categories. Notably, Vietnamese cuisine received high praise, scoring 63.7 points for "delicious food." Other contributing factors include "unique attractions" (64.3 points), "rich history" (48 points), "stunning natural scenery" (45.2 points), and "friendliness" (43.8 points), all of which contributed to this impressive ranking.

Founded in 1933, US News & World Report noted: "The economic reforms introduced in 1986 have transformed Vietnam into a modern nation with increasing competitiveness on the global stage."

🌄 Highland specialties are not just about the majestic forests, the poetic and untouched landscapes shrouded in mist that touch the soul. Beyond that, there lies the unique beauty of the indigenous people, which I have been tirelessly seeking—a pursuit and ambition to create a "📸 photography that speaks," capturing the faces and silhouettes of the people and their lives here.

🌱 This is when everything remains at its most simple and unadulterated, in its purest form. Traveling to the highlands, one encounters the honest and diligent labor of the locals and the innocent, crystal-clear gazes of the mountain children.

💡 Life in each place has its unique charm and value, making comparisons impossible. Yet, if one day you leave the lowlands to journey to the highlands and meet the children of the mountains, seeing their innocence and purity, you’ll begin to understand how economic and educational disparities have profoundly shaped their lives.

❄️TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 1°C, FANSIPAN COVERED IN ICE❄️

Early this morning, December 23, temperatures on the summit of Fansipan (Sa Pa Town, Lao Cai Province) dropped below 1°C, resulting in a thin layer of ice forming on the ground and vegetation.

The ice layer, about 1cm thick, coated the wooden floors in white. This marks the second occurrence of frost on Fansipan this winter. Previously, on November 23, the summit was also covered in a thin layer of ice when temperatures fell to 2°C.

Meteorological agencies predict that over the next three days, nighttime and early morning temperatures in the northern midland and mountainous regions will range from 10-13°C, while the Red River Delta area will see temperatures from 14-16°C. Daytime temperatures are expected to be between 20-23°C.

𝟑. 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠: some tourist sites remain open during Tet, but many museums, mausoleums, indoor exhibition places,s and art houses will be closed for the first 3 days of Tet. The floating markets in the Mekong Delta will be closed.
𝟒. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬: many restaurants will be closed during Tet. Therefore, Tet may not be the best time for culinary tour fans.
𝟓. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬: many shops will be closed for the first few days of the Tet Festival. The good news is - many products will be sold at a very reasonable price because most sellers want to start a smooth sales year.
𝟔. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬: banks will be closed for the holiday.

3. Streets are elaborately decorated and everybody looks happy. Just enjoy the festive mood!
4. Hotels and travel agents still work during the Tet holiday. Some hotels will have special nights or New Year celebrations.

Here are some tips if you're planning to visit Vietnam during the Tet holiday.
1. Be sure to plan and book your Vietnam tour early so that tickets can be guaranteed. Booking two or four months ahead is not a bad idea.
2. Book hotels early. There are three reasons: you can enjoy a relatively low price; avoid the risk of having no room to stay; there are more choices if book early.
3. Since some tourist sites are closed during Tet, it’s wise to plan your itinerary accordingly: visit the museums and such just before or after Tet, and relax or walk around Hanoi Old Quarter or go sunbathing on beaches during Tet.
4. For travelers, dining at hotel restaurants is an option since most restaurants are closed.
5. If you need some currency change, do this in hotels though the exchange rate might be less than favorable.
6. Try not to bargain because it will be considered to bring about bad luck for the whole new year. If you have to do it, be very polite.
