In 2024, wet season will come a bit earlier. SaiGon’s climate is divided into 2 seasons: the wet season from late April to November and the dry season from December to early April.

The average annual temperature in Ho Chi Minh city is about 27.55°C with the highest temperature reaching 40°C in April.

The hottest month of the year is April, while December is the coolest month with the temperature even falling to 16-18°C on some days.

The rain usually comes and goes in a short time, then it is dry and sunny for the rest of the day. During this time, th prices of airplane tickets, hotel and restaurant services also decrease in the off-peak season.

Southern traditional cake festival 2024
In CAN THO, MEKONG DELTA

Take place from April 17 to April 21 in Binh Thuy district in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho

Address: Binh Thuy District Square (Binh Thuy Ward, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City)

As many as 250 food stalls by both artisans and businesses based in Can Tho city and 18 provinces and cities throughout the southern region will also take part in the festival

Visitors will have the chance to sample hundreds of kinds of traditional signature savoury and sweet cakes, such as bánh khọt (deep-fried shrimp pancake), bánh ít trần (sticky rice dumpling), and bánh bò (steamed rice cake)

This year marks the 11th edition of the festival and it is expected to attract around one million visitors across five daáy

At the age of 57, he did not want to rely on his children, Uncle Long decided to open a coffee shop. He started selling salted coffee for the first time at the end of February 2023 at Cong Hoa Street, Tan Binh District, Saigon

Before opening his coffee trucks, Uncle Long used to do all kinds of jobs from hairdressers, workers, bricklayers... to support his family

LOCAL STORY
The pink old man

Uncle Chanh (69 years old, in Phu Nhuan District, HCMC) started dyeing his house info pink about 2 years ago.

He recycled hundreds of plastic bottles, painted them into pink and often wear pink clothes. Uncle Chanh was originally a officer in a state agency, currently retired and living alone.

To create joy in old age, he recycles plastic bottles, plants trees, takes care of his house, and keeps the neighborhood clean and beautiful.

Uncle Chanh was nicknamed “the pink old man” by his neighbors because his house was dyed pink inside and out. From door frames, fans, fish ponds... Uncle bought plastic bottles from the scrap yard and worked hard for hours shaping and painting to decorate. “I like pink because it looks fresh and youthful. Many people say ‘life is pink or look at life with pink eyes’ because maybe this is a color with a beautiful meaning,” said Mr. Chanh. Because I like pink and choose it as the main color to decorate my house.
