Thank you to everyone who came to see "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" over the past week. We are so happy that we raised over $1000 for charitable organisations.
From the money raised from ticket sales, $400 will go to Lucky Shelter to help with the cost of rescuing and looking after cats and $600 will go to P**c Lam orphanage to help them buy new uniforms for the children and has already paid for a festive trip out (see photos).

Simon Stone’s adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s timeless play ‘Yerma’ tells the heartbreaking story of a woman unable to have a baby. As her efforts fail, her world unravels in a desperate attempt to conceive the child she never thought she wanted. This contemporary retelling questions identity and womanhood in a haunting and powerful way.
We are excited to announce our next production which is an adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s play, Yerma. Written by Simon Stone and directed by Rhea Mehmet, Yerma tells the heartbreaking story of a woman unable to have a baby.

Our Story
With the transient nature of the community in Saigon, we have been privileged to work with a wide variety of actors, directors and producers but Dragonfly has a core of dedicated people who maintain the high levels of professionalism and excellence. The history of our performances is as follows:
Dragonfly have been entertaining audiences since 2011, and, with Zúñiga's flamboyance and Toronto's creative genius, produced well-known performances as "The Importance of Being Earnest", "The Little Prince" and “Dangerous Liaisons”. Brian Riedlinger added his musical talents in this era performing in "The Last 5 Years".
From 2014-15, Dragonfly were joined by the experienced actor/director Ryan Burkwood who joined Aaron in leading the company in a classical, artistically satisfying run of shows including "Blue/Orange", "Waiting for Godot" and "An Evening with Tennessee Williams". This latter was Dragonfly's first experience of a dinner theatre event which was hugely successful.
Leon Bown was the driving force behind the dark comedy, "Lawrence and Holloman" starring Bown and the fresh talent of David Delves. Previous shows had been performed at the popular Cargo/Q4 but this show required a more intimate setting which was discovered at the outdoor arts events space, Saigon Outcast.
In 2016, Dragonfly returned to children's theatre with the ever popular "George's Marvellous Medicine" by Roald Dahl. Directed by Hector Malloy and Rae Labadie and performed at Saigon Outcast, "George" was a huge success with children and adults alike.
The emotional play “Lovesong” was performed in 2017, directed by the talented Anne-Marie Astley, and telling the heart-wrenching story of a couple facing terminal illness.
Anne-Marie, who has been directing theatre over the last twelve years is known for her fiery direction of “Chicago” at the British International School as well as “Blood Brothers” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”.
“Lend Me a Tenor” in 2017 was took us on a voyage into comedy farce theatre. Directed by our founder, Aaron Toronto, and performed at SOUL Live Project, “Tenor” was a news and internet sensation.
Holding together the production side of the company is Belinda Smith. Professional graphic design and photography is the role of the highly talented David Patrick Delves.
