we call this dry coconut. its the juices in the dry coconut is also drinkable. taste like soda water cox of the gassy taste. the white flesh is used for cooking, crated then make fresh coconut milk out of it. very yummy :) coconut oil is also made out of the white flesh. and we can also use it as spinkles topping on cakes.. very yummy too. #

One of the things I do when I go travelling is I get a souvenir from whichever that country is so it reminds me of my holiday. That is one thing I love about travelling. We have A lot of good locally made Souvenirs which we encourage you to buy as it is our true identity? it ranges from carving wood to Woven baskets and local weapons . A simple T- short or necklace, maybe a sarong.

Did you know why mystery island is called mystery island? well, the locals call it "INYEUG" meaning small island. The indigenous name of Mystery Island is Inyeug. According to the locals, the island was changed to Mystery Island because a reporter writing about Queen Elizabeth’s II 1974 visit kept asking for the name of the small island that she visited. The reporter was told the name is “Inyeug” meaning “Small Island”. After his own version of “Who is on First” (What is the name of that small island? “Inyeug”, “Small Island”!) The newspaper’s headline read “Her Majesty visits Mystery Island” for sure sold more papers than “Her Majesty visits Small Island”. The tourist that followed came to see Mystery Island not Small Island. The name Mystery Island has stuck and is used widely by the tourist and Cruise industry. Mystery Island itself has some modern amenities for cruises passengers such as newly jetty recently build in April, 2016. With the new jetty, it could now accommodate at least four tender boats that transfer tourists from the cruise ship to the island. The new jetty will assist and ease the movements of tourists from the cruise liners to Mystery Island, and to and back from the mainland. The old jetty used to accommodate only one transfer boat from the cruise ship has been decommissioned. There are no roads and no vehicles but have some tourism products on the island to accommodate the cruise ship passengers on cruise’s days.

According to Trip advisor the best 5 spots to visit for your one day cruise into Port villa are: Hideaway island home of the underwater post office, Reef Vanuatu zoological, Rarru Water falls, Ekasup Village and Eden on the river. Mystery Island is located in the southernmost Part Of Vanuatu. It is a piece of Heaven on earth, Very remote and Just beautiful. One thing People wonder about is are there any toilets? answer is Yes. Shown here is a old Toilets but thanks to Canival And P&O we do have new and Well maintained Toilets for Males and for females, We do have fresh water shower outside the toilets and change rooms. However if you wonder Far and you need to do your business ASAP, then There are these Long drops Around the whole island. :) #

Cruise days in Port Vila, Luganivlle and Mystery island are very Busy days for the tour operator, taxi drivers, buis drivers, ferry drivers, Mamas in the market, shop owners and so forth. Even tho you might not see it, feel it, know it, Everybody benefits when you are in town. Smiling faces for almost all at the end of the day. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR RETURN :)

Vanuatu was formerly known as New Hebrides. Vanuatu meaning "our land". Did you know that there are two different kinds of governments ruling our lands? We have our chiefly governing bodies throughout the whole country and they existed way before the "white man" governing systems where introduced. You accidently rock up to some village on any island in Vanuatu and there is a chief there. Everybody is Friendly now a days. Back in the days of darkness, as my grandfather used to call it, you will be some chiefs Breakfdast :) Thank Goodness those days are no more.

Winters in Vanuatu are as low as 18 degree celcius. And the summer it could get up to well over 30+ degree celcius. And that's not just it, the humitity on this islands is in most days 100% and that's day and night. So when you visit in the summer come jump in the cold refreshing waterfalls, natural pools or ocean.

Duty-free shopping is one popular activity that Cruise boat passengers love to do after their day in Port villa. They would come down to FungKuei Duty-free and buy all their alcohols and smokes before they head back to the boat. it is a popular activity cox its very Cheap compared to Australian or Kiwi duty free shops.
Fung Kuei Duty- free shop has been in Port Vila Since back in 1969 as shown on the pictures below in gray. They have all the alcohol you need,chocolate, cameras, sports wear, Watches and so forth. so if you want to buy Duty free at a cheap price Fung Kuei's your spot.

Did you know Mystery island Airport is located right across the middle of mystery Island. There are average two flights a week transporting people and basic necessities. Tuesdays and thursday are flight days and Sometimes sunday. So if your cruise comes in on one of this days please be mindful when crossing the runway.
