O.M.G!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, we visited the new Universal Epic Universe Preview Center. This new theme park at Universal Studios Orlando will be AMAZING and a game-changer in theme parks. It opens in a few months. You're going to want to go - we promise.

The new areas in Universal Epic Universe are:

- Celestial Park: The central park that serves as a gateway to the other themed areas. It features gardens, waterways, pathways, and the Starfall Racers dual-launch racing coaster. ☄️🔮

- Dark Universe: A village that's filled with dark energy and features Frankenstein Manor. The Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment ride takes guests inside Frankenstein Manor. 🪄

- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: A themed area based on the How to Train Your Dragon movies 🐲

- Super Nintendo World: A themed area based on Super Nintendo 🎮🕹️

- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: A themed area based on the Harry Potter movies 🧙‍♂️🧙🪄

Mornings at Disney's Coronado Springs resort. This resort is considered a moderate resort at Disney, but we think of it as a moderate plus! It's beautiful. It has lots of amenities and food choices. Including a bar in the middle of the lake!

If you were not aware, Shelley and I have stayed at every on property Disney Resort, except for the brand new one that opened just recently. We'll get there soon. That's a lot, since there are over 25 resorts. We do that so we can tell you from experience what each resort level is like and what the differences are. It gives us great insight to be able to match your needs to the best resort for you.

BUT, now we are doing the same thing at Universal Studios Orlando (USO). USO has been doing amazing upgrades and enhancements over the last several years including a brand new theme park called Epic Universe. We've decided to visit next week and stay at Aventura. We've stayed at Cabana Bay and it was awesome. We'll come back with a full report!!!! Aventura is a tower resort with an AMAZING rooftop bar with spectacular views. These photos don't capture how cool it is.

What is the BEST time to go to Disney World?

We get asked this question all the time. It's probably the number one question we get. The answer is not black and white and has a lot to do with your personal preferences AND when you are able to travel.

Below are our top 10 ways to manage the crowds, but first, some introductory comments.

Planning a trip to Disney World is fantastic fun. We love it. That's why we do what we do. But it can also be a bit overwhelming. You have to think about on property vs off property, seasonal ticket pricing, crowds, temps, special events, and your own vacation time. We're here to help and hopefully this post is useful to you.

Here are our top 10 ways to help you decide when is best for you.

10 - A shameless plug :-) - use a travel advisor that knows Disney, particularly Disney World. We go through annual and frequent training about the parks, the resorts, special plans, and a host of other things that a good travel advisor needs to know to assist you. Note: If a Travel Advisor charges you a fee, find another travel agent.

9 - Decide what is more important to you - crowds or the temperature. Disney has worked hard over the years to spread the crowds out across the year by using runDisney events, athletic competitions, festivals, and special offers. However, there are still times when the crowds are lower. For example, late January and late February have lower crowds, but the weather may be colder than you'd like. On the flip side, August and September have lower crowds, but it can be hot - like high 90s hot! So if cooler or hotter weather doesn't bother you, then these are good times.

8 - Arrive at the parks early and stay late OR arrive early and come back later. In general the crowds are lower early in the morning and later at night. When we are traveling to Disney World, we arrive in the morning, go back to the resort mid-day, and then come back later in the day.

7 - Stay on property. Can you save a few bucks by staying off property? Maybe. BUT, staying on property gives you the benefit of arriving early and sometimes later at the parks than off-property guests. Also, our experience has been that off-property transportation can be hard to manage as well. Disney transportation is quite predictable, runs all day, and pretty frequently.

6 - Use the Disney technology to see wait times. You don't have to purchase Genie+ or Lightning Lane to see the wait times at rides and attractions.

5 - Use Genie+ and/or Lightning Lane. These tools allow you to skip the regular lines. Pro tips: Book your top-choice rides early in the day to maximize availability! Book a week in advance.

4 - Eat at off-peak times, Stay away from the noon lunch rush and the 5-7pm dinners. Also, use mobile ordering for quick serve restaurants and skip the wait lines. I don't think we've waited in line for a quick service meal since mobile order was introduced.

3 - Start at the back of the park and move forward. This may sound like a small thing, but it's not. Most people stop and the first ride, character, or attraction they see. So fly past them and start where every one is NOT.

2 - Take midday breaks. We mentioned this early, but going back to your on-property resort to enjoy the pools and activities is a great way to miss the crowds and the heat of the day.

1 - Be Flexible. Disney World has magic everywhere and sometimes people miss the magic trying to get on certain rides or certain attractions. If a line is too long, go somewhere else. Pro tip - you can always come back to Disney!

Bonus tip! If you can, go when others are not. Essentially, Spring Break, Fall Break, Holidays, or Christmas break or anytime school is out.
