My early introduction to the sector was via my Air Traffic Controller days at the Faleolo Tower and previously in Windy Wellington Tower and ATC Center at Wexford Road. My husband and I started off with a c
harter boat business from scratch in 1984 when tourism was touted as the next major economic activity for Samoa. This followed consulting for New Zealand Aid Programme as the Administrator for the Samoa Tourism Support Fund(TSF) for at least 3 years. This meant being at the forefront of assisting and mentoring small to medium businesses in the sector. The extensive site visits and travels throughout Samoa resulted in a build-up of my large network, trust and working relationships with the operators. This was followed by being Samoa Hotel Association’s very first CEO. I was given free reign to build the frail organisation into a strong, financially stable and default tourism private sector organisation. One of the first priorities I dealt with was the data and image collection of all the properties, sites and services on offer in Samoa which formed the data for the online booking system that saw most of the services listed on-line for the very first time. Besides other consultancy work that i am currently engage in, I continue to update my knowledge of what is happening in our beautiful island nation. As a result, many people both local and international defer to me as a trustworthy and reliable source of information, help and advice about Samoa. Until recently, for almost two years, I have been writing for the weekly Events Page in the Samoa Observer on behalf of Samoa For Real Inc., another Tourism Association that I am a member of. It has been my intention for a very long time to start my own website and corresponding social media through which I can provide up to date information and exciting happenings in Samoa. I truly hope that the information provided is both helpful and entertaining reading. I will also be working with the business community to further assist in promoting their businesses and services via my pages through exclusive offers and competitions. Ultimately, I will be offering
