Snow Report
Monday, December 23, 2024
Well, we got more than the 70cm the locals were talking about (mostly thanks to NHK, I think), but not that far off. Denser snow than yesterday, making it a pain to get out to the study plot. I'm going to add snow density figures, too; I’ve been reviewing what I get with my tubes, bowls, scales, rulers, etc., and it seems to be some good data. So where I figure one cubic meter of snow yesterday was 102.6 kilograms, today’s serving comes in at 119.4 kg. Feels like it, too. Foot pe*******on is pretty deep, too, so, again, if you were sa snowboarder going headfirst into the 81cm total we’ve gotten at base over the past two days, you’ll want a friend nearby! Always a good idea, and more fun.
