Jungle story...Day 3,we set off early morning after bidding farewell to the ever cheerful, ever hospitable team at .Mission was to sight the tiger, which eluded us on Day 1&2 .As we entered the Bori wildlife sanctuary at Churna,we spotted fresh pug marks, which gave us some hope ,our naturalist and forest guide was all set to make our day by spotting the tiger. And suddenly at far distance we see a cat crossing the road and there it was ,the most elusive cat..not the Tiger but the Leopard, stood watching us for a few minutes and before we could react ,ran into the jungle .Our day was made &we had a story to share with our friends who were in another Jeep and missed the sighting. After some driving around the core area , we retired back to the Government forest lodge at Churna , before heading back to Reni Pani Jungle Lodge through another sanctuary called Madhai in the Satpura Tiger Reserve. As we were welcomed by Erwin -Naturalist & Lodge Manager at ,he walked us through the area explaining to us the flora and fauna of the place.Post lunch we were shifted to another Jeep ,to head to our next lodge for a night stay .As we passed through the jungle of Bori Wildlife sanctuary, chasing the tigress again, which was spotted by another team , we had a sighting of another leopard, this one was hardly 5ft away and a full grown male .. peacefully watched us and ran away into the jungle ,this time I managed to capture a video of the elusive cat. Sighting a tiger still remains my dream ,another time .Well can't complain , because at the forest checkpost i managed to feed the friendly Malabar Giant Squirrel ,an apple out of my hand , spotted herd of Indian Gaur,Nilgai ,Barking Deer and a whole lot of birds .Nature has amazing ways to survive and entrall us humans, and to make it more interesting was Erwin ,who was a treasure trove of stories about wildlife. On arrival at we were escorted to our forest view cottages ,an experience par excellence. Another highlight was meeting the director of the lodge Mr.Ali who himself is a huge wildlife enthusiast and has led many wildlife expeditions. Camera traps around the jungle has captured many wildlife within the resort , around the waterholes, hence every guest is escorted after dark to their rooms .No amount of pictures or videos will do justice to the experience one can explore at Reni Pani Jungle Lodge.
