But we had another great day in the gulf. good folks today and they had a great time catching some nice red snapper and amberjack .

The days are counting down for the end of the 2023 Amberjack season. Had some great folks out today for some Amberjack fishing . Got some real nice red snapper also.

Another great day in the gulf. My friend Barrett Deitz brought down some fellow employees to enjoy some catching . Red Snapper , Amberjack and a 50 lb ling .

Had some friends out today. Nice north wind this am on the way out but dang it got choppy out deep. Amberjack, Almaco Jack, Red Snapper and Ling .

Folks, I know it is disappointing to not go out on a scheduled trip with a Charter Captain, but your safety and comfort should be their number 1 concern. You're not paying to be miserable in the boat or in the water. Is going fishing really worth taking those kinds of chances and not enjoying yourself on the trip? No. Plus good careful guides would rather lose the charter fee than be sued for taking people out in what is predicted to be and is bad weather and someone ends up hurt or worse. That's not worth it to you or them.

Some days we have really crappy weather. There will always be other, nicer days to go. So if your guide calls and says we shouldn't go because of the weather or conditions, it's because they know what is safe, and what is just taking people's money.

So be happy that your guide is smart enough to tell you that it's not a good idea to go on a certain day because of conditions and reschedule for another day. One thing not under anyone's control is God's weather.

Another day in the gulf with another amazing family. Travis Jordan and his wife and kids have a great day offshore . Dang big Amberjack wouldn’t cooperate today but managed to catch one good one and some small ones . Red Snapper bite was good though. Extremely hot today offshore . Make sure and hydrate when your boat working outdoors .

Another good day in the gulf . Jake Boos and his friends and family were a blast today . 5 man limit of nice Amberjack and Red Snapper .

Started the day with sloppy seas but it ended up nice in the afternoon. Great group of guys today . Limits of red snapper from 15-18 lbs and a nice 60 lb Amberjack. Caught several smaller amberjack as well from 33-36 inches long.

Had a first yesterday while deep dropping. Those who deep drop fish know that sometimes a fish will come off and if it’s off the bottom enough, it will float to the surface. We had one come off yesterday. One of the crew seen it and decided to jump in and retrieve it for us . LOL

Open Boat Red Snapper/Amberjack charter

Leave Matagorda Harbor at 7am

$400 a person , Mist have a minimum of 5 people to make the trip a go !

Tuesday is opening day of the amberjack season and they are going to be hungry . These are one of the most hard pulling fish in the gulf and can grow to 80 plus pounds. The season only last 24 days so don’t wait to take advantage of this.

Great day with great friends today. Got us some very nice red snapper and some nice Mahi Mahi . Filled the freezer up.
