Pipiru river at Panakei village in Siwai was a nice river providing all our necessities for washing, drinking and cooking but today for the last 3 months our people are suffering from lack of water due to the long dry spell. How long it will take the rain to come and water to flow again no one knows and the community has suffered for far too long.

The Siwai Cultural Show 2022 was a great success. This time we had tourist from Australia, USA, and Europe who represent various tour/ travel companies. Next year we expect more tourist to visit our destination. Also we have the NID officers from Port Moresby to do up ID for our Cultural groups who are going to display during a festival later in the month in Australia. Thanks to our member Hon. Timothy Masiu for sponsoring the visit by the NID team and also for being the Siwai Cultural Show major sponsor.

Tourism Siwai Association will be launching the second Siwai Cultural Show on Saturday 26 February at Panakei Lodge around midday.
The patron of the show Hon Timothy Masiu will launch this years show witnessed by stakeholders from the ABG, Community chiefs, and members of the Tourism Siwai Association and the people of Siwai.
Cultural dances from the famous Momoraka Culture group and Siroi bamboo band will be on hand to entertain the officials.
This years show will be held from 12 to 13 August, 2022 at the Panakei show ground and we expecting people from all over Bougainville and other parts of PNG to take part in this show.
The Tourism Siwai Association is inviting our 3 Abg constituency members to come to the launching to patner with the national government and corporate entities in funding the second biggest cultural, arts and Tourism show in Siwai, South Bougainville.

Preparation for the Siwai Cultural Show planned for 13 and 14 August is going well. For those interested to participate in the show an application to participate in any of the activities is available at the Tourism Siwai office at Panakei Lodge. In Torokina, Bana and Buin you can see your district managers for the participation forms.

Siwai Cultural Show is planned for 12 to 15 August, 2021 at Panakei Minitown Show grounds.
Thank you PNG Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA) and National Cultural Commission (NCC) for putting us on the National Events Calendar so we can continue Siwai Cultural Show every year.

If you are not able to come to this diverse culture show this year, start planning to visit us same time same place next year to witness the unique Cultures and Tourism/arts displays.

Tourism Siwai in partnership with PNGTPA is running a 2 day workshop in Siwai from the 2 to 5 June, 2021. About 50 - 60 of our members are expected to attend the workshop on Tourism Marketing Development. Any other interested members in South Bougainville can make contact to book a space for the Workshop.

The 2021 South Bougainville Siwai Cultural show is planned for 13-15 August this year. The Culture and tourism show will be staged at the Panakei Mini town showground, Siwai. The show ground is embarking to have a traditional house Garamut (stilt gong) to house 8 garamuts, a grand stand for tourists and VIPs to seat and observe the main arena.Show committee is currently seeking for sponsors through out the country. For interested Government Statutory Organisations and corporate companies to have a display or trade promotion Booth at the show ground, please email your intention so we
