It’s been a busy 2017. Hosting guests from all corners of the globe. Mainly due to Airbnb, who, I might add kindly rewarded me with the title of Super Host 🎖 🤗 in October. Supplying wedding teas at multiple award winning Tree Tops Escape and Millbrook. Also teas and dinners at other venues. Picking up guests from the train station and dropping them off at their friends’ wedding venue. One, I clearly remember, got changed at Exeter St Davids, whilst waiting for her train to Umberleigh! And Ironing one father of the brides’ shirt! Lexi, the resident Jack Russell has somehow wriggled into the hearts of guests, frequently and happily, posing for a photograph or video. The lovely comments written in my guest book have encouraged me to keep up the good work. Every year I seem to have ended up taking on more. As the winter months close in I am taking this time to thank the people who have helped make Mews Cottage the success that it is. Our treasured Community Shop with all the fab staff is a god-send to the village. I’m proud to be a part of the High Bickington Community, working alongside the likes of two great pubs - The Olde George and The Golden Lion, hairdressers, beauticians, florists, cake bakers - LissyB’s (daughter Melissa). Rambler Cottage holiday cottage, L J’s Pantry with her award winning pasties to mention a few. What a great village High Bickington is.👏
