Lovely and calm out in the Bay..
Perfect day on the river...
A quick little snippet from Sam Aspinall today as Mt Pleasant and Hi-Ho caught up with the other wooden boats approx 8nm above Nelligen.
Lovely run out to the Tollgate Islands this morning, we had some awesome company on the way back in to Batemans Bay
In the Lee of the Tollgates. Should be a good place for a picnic (can't go ashore tho)
Wind has dropped down substantially, so the rolling has almost stopped. Much nicer. Slowed down a bit to 6.2kts and shy of the entrance to Jervis Bay
Sunday afternoon..those clouds later dumped lots of rain on Sydney. I've watched these little videos a 'few' times on the iPad, the trip up was such a good experience. Something I'd hoped to be able to do, but wasn't sure we could pull it off. We thought she was only a river/estuary boat, but I turns out they knew how to build boats 100 years ago!
So quite a bit bumpier today, but she is handling things just fine, albeit rather slow. We have a following sea against an adverse current, hence the lack of progress.
Things got a bit bumpy going past the heads at Jervis Bay, due to waves being refracted off the cliffs. MP handled it with ease, still doing 7.3kts
