There is life in the slate! Snow is great for tracking - Fox on the hunt and hare on the forage
One of my favourite small wilds. I wonder where the frogs, newts and dragonflies are now?
A day at Hell’s Mouth (Porth Neigwl) Lleyn Peninsula - Tali quote - ‘I’m having so much fun I want stay here all day’ - result :) even with a bit of learning thrown in there too - choices, responsibility and accountability! I also learnt that I need to put my child’s gloves on earlier as I had to abandon and return for our litter bounty - impressed that bins are provided for beach litter so you don’t have the dilemma of whether to stink your vehicle out or not! Well done Gwynedd Council. As an observation, the litter could have been far worse and from what we saw, it appeared to be mostly fishing industry waste with a noticeable lack in recreational waste!
So many things not to flush!
Have simmered for 2 hrs, now straining - cover if leaving overnight. Don’t bash it, just let gravity to the work. Cover if leaving over night. These are windfall eaters btw but crab apples wd also work well though cooking apples tend to mush quickly and I’ve no free supplies so not tried!
My wife doesn’t know it but this is ‘under new management’ - mission eradicate!
Don’t let em rot! - apple jelly - no peeling- super easy, cheap and tasty - savoury for your roast pork or sweet for your toast - next! - I’ll keep you posted, shortly!
Don’t be too tidy out there, who knows what might want to move in. Unusual so far this year in our Dinorwig garden; a newt, an enormous toad, a jelly like fungus, nut hatch, and the Barn owl is back. Chuffed this fungi likes us!
Cheeky! Training a hardy not so wild welsh section A pony for my sons
We are pretty pleased with ourselves! Another mission to Dinas Dinlle and as always exploring comes up with ‘treasure’ - we think a lobster claw. The beach was actually pretty clean of large debris but still managed a bit of a clean up -
Well what an amazing haul at Dinas Dinlle today! Following Wayne's suggestion, we took a stroll along the shore and as well as a bin bag full of mainly recyclable rubbish, there were still alive (and dead) sea creatures galore washed up like nothing we have seen before. Can you identify them? Post your answers in the pics comments and we will let you know who's right!
Ever seen Ogwen Cottage looking as menacing as this? Taken yesterday at 1400
Choose wisely if you can - try to avoid plastics as much as possible at the very least. Recycling isn't the answer, refusing is
Learn how long our trash lasts....
The increasing waste volume is a major concern for mankind. So, the best way to deal with this problem is avoiding products that generate waste materials. Unpackage your life, choose reusable, recycle, share it with friends!
Important that everyone contributes to this if we want to put conservation not exploitation at the heart of national parks management
Welsh Government's consultation closes on 30th September - please act swiftly to ensure that our National Parks and AONBs retain the protection they need.
This is a great idea - and definitely achievable for everyone

Very happy and rather excited to announce a joining of forces with and The Welsh Wildlife Trust.
Have a meeting with the whole team next week.
2018 is going to be a very full on and exciting year.
So not even biodegradable and flushable wipes are actually either of those things ...
This wet wipe (marked flushable & biodegradable) was placed by LOVEmyBEACH in water back in 2012!
We find lots of these on beaches so please don't flush them.
Please sign & share our petition for clearer labelling in wet wipes: www.mcsuk.org/forms/wetwipes.php

Wet wipes have become a staple for many parents. We use them too sometimes but try flannels for hands and faces and choose biodegradable and never flush.

Snowdonia's majestic wild goats, right on our doorstep! Thankfully no longer shot for profit. I'll share my garden veg rather than lose them
We feel conservation should be the primary objective for national parks - not resource exploitation
A panel says Welsh national parks could lose their status as protected areas if the findings of a report are implemented.

Exactly what we've been saying to Welsh Government for some time now...
We will shortly be asking people to respond to Welsh Government's consultation on this. It will need a big response...
