Escalante was the kick off to an excellent summer of travel. Yes, it was hot, but the hiking was amazing. Plus, we stayed in an Airstream and that was cool. All the kids wanted to do was play in the sand.

If you're going to reunite with your family (which, yes, good thing, right?) then why not do it in Rocky Point Mexico? We had our family reunion here and it was awesome. The ocean would recede in the morning (almost concerning...like is there going to be a Tsunami?) and you could find sea creatures. Then, the tide would come in, and you could play in the water. Wanna go back.

My family grew up going to Lava Hot Springs and I never went with them. Probably because I hate camping. I still hate camping. I mean...I'll do it if you force me. But, I'd rather be somewhere with a bathroom that isn't the forest. Bugs biting my behind isn't my jam. Anyway, now that Airbnb is a thing, "camping" is now possible for me. It's pretty here.

Saint George is the place to go if you need to be extra warm when you're in Utah. It's hot. It's close to Vegas. It's close to the world's best hiking. And, the town is quaint. We love it. The All Abilities Park is so awesome and a great way to cool off. So is the splash pad on Main Street.

You guys, China! All I have to say is go to China. It was everything and more than I could have ever dreamed of. We ended up getting randomly awesome weather and clear blue skies. Apparently, they shut down the factories for the national holiday to clear the air, so go then. Also, the Great Wall of China and the 798 Art District and the food. GO TO CHINA! Why aren't you booking your ticket right now? Go. Seriously. China. Do it. Today.

Quick family vacay to The Alamo and San Antonio was a party. We went on a ghost tour (awesome) and saw the "Elmamo" (what my son calls it) and ate some amazing Mexican and Tex-Mex food. I'd never been to Texas. I know! It's basically America (at least that's what Texans think). Full of history. Full of fun. Realized I totally had the story of The Alamo wrong in my head and now I actually know what happened. [ 47 more words ]

Remember that one time I was going to take my family to Disneyland and then we ended up postponing the trip, but I still went? I had purchased a ticket to go see Abbi Jacobson talk about her new book, so I still went. Ended up seeing two besties and driving all around California. Isn't California traffic what everyone loves about CALI? I think so. I did learn about La Michoacana, though, and that changed my life. Look it up.
