Flash flood warnings along the entire North Shore until past midnight. We’ve already had 2 to 4 inches of rain and expect that again. Stay in tonight!
9pm update: Cook County Sheriff Office has had multiple reports of flooding along Hwy 61 one making driving difficult and dangerous. Trees are also down along many interior roads. No travel is advised. There are also multiple outages throughout the county and public utilities is aware and working on them at this time. Please be patient and be safe. Flood watch in effect until 12:15 am.

Good advice!

The trees love it, the trails...not as much 🌲🌧️🌊

Recent heavy rainfall is causing muddy spots, standing water, and, in the worst cases, landslides along trails. If you are joining us at a state park this weekend, take a look at the visitor alerts for updates on trail conditions and closures 📲⚠️ mndnr.gov/parklist

It might also be a good idea to pack an extra pair of shoes and socks! 🥾🧦 While you may get dirty, going straight through mud puddles is actually best for trails. When you go around, the trails get widened and there is more disturbance on the forest floor. Thanks in advance for getting a little muddy!

📷: At Tettegouche State Park, the Cascade Trail is CLOSED after recent heavy rains caused a landslide that took a portion of the Cascade Trail with it. The Cascade Falls of the Baptism River are not accessible at this time.
