Richmond Bridge is a “must-see” attraction when visiting the historic village of Richmond. This convict-build sandstone bridge is the oldest existing stone arch bridge in Australia, constructed in 1823-1825. It was built to improve the transportation of convicts and early settlers from Hobart Town, passing through Richmond to other parts of Tasmania. The bridge is still in use today and visitors can walk over the bridge or underneath the outer arches. It’s a lovely spot to relax by the river, accompanied by a flock of ducks.

Due to major road works on Pinnacle Road we will not be operating our mountain tours from tomorrow Tuesday 29th March - Thursday 31st March 2022. We will resume our mountain tours from Friday 1st April. Great news is that our Richmond and double decker city tours will operate as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused 🍃

Every year before winter sets in we carry out critical maintenance work on Pinnacle Road to ensure it is safe for the public and as the gateway to the many brilliant events that take place on the mountain.

To create a safe working space for our maintenance crew we will close Pinnacle Road tomorrow, Tuesday 29 March, and plan to have it back open by 8am Friday, April 1.

Walking and bike tracks on kunanyi/Mt Wellington, aside from the Zig Zag Track, will remain open, but for safety reasons cyclists and pedestrians will not be allowed on Pinnacle Road where it is closed for maintenance.
