Happy 1st November everyone. I can't believe it's November already. Next stop Christmas and then the time to start thinking of the next holiday. Our communal kitchen area is now ready and up and running. The Pod,Ark and Camping cabin will benefit from the cooking facility's. The bike storage will hopefully benefit the cyclists who come to see the island on bike. The pagoda will be a good covered area to sit and eat, bbq and socialising.

Busy weekend this weekend it's a good job we had the extra hour🤣. The communal cooking area is now almost ready, just a few more tweeks this week, and we should be up and running. We hope it will be well used by the Pod,Ark, and camping cabin and a good addition to our business with the covered pagoda for all the cabins to use so what ever the weather you can bbq and sit out and eat. Well, we survived the storm last night, although some of the island did have floods from hightides, and some bridges got damaged. So the tidy up will begin from branches, trees and rocks, etc. we will live to see another day. I am sure the ferries will be up and running a normal winter service? Although still a little breezy today, it's not too wet, but typically, when I went out without a coat, the heavens opened .
Our next job now family have been and grandkids are back to school is to get the communal area ready asap, so keep your eyes pealed for updates.

Well 1st October already and main season almost done. We are still working over the winter months and can do short holidays if you fancy a long weekend away please do get in contact. Some exciting changes ahead a new communal area including a communal kitchen area for the Pod , Ark, and camping cabin as they don't have kitchens in them. The communal kitchen will have an oven, hob, fridges and even a freezer and sink to wash up your dishes. We will have a pagoda area where you can sit out whatever the weather for use for all the cabins get wifi and bbq under cover. We will also have a covered bike rack area where you can store your bike (you will need your own bike lock)We are having a few weeks off to recover from the season and see family then work will follow to have it all ready asap. Many of our scenic roads in the Highlands and Islands are single track roads with passing places, which can be unfamiliar to visitors.

Here are some helpful tips to enjoy your drive safer

🚙 Always keep to the left. if the passing place is on the right, wait opposite it.
🚙 If you're driving slower than someone behind you, use the passing place to allow them to overtake. Frustration causes accidents!
🚙 Open grazing for livestock is commonplace. Lookout for sheep, cattle and other animals on the road, and slow down when passing them.
🚙 Never park in a passing place.
🚙 When on hills, give way to drivers coming up the hill.

31st August already where did July go, let alone August. Well, at least its going out with a bang,lovely sunny end to a quite wet month. The leaves are already starting to fall although with the amount still on the trees it's hard to see where they have fallen from.
Grape Soda Travels visited us in July and did some brilliant blogs showcasing mull (we featured too) you can see them on YouTube. Now to look forwards to darker nights it's already starting to get dark by 9ish rather than not at all. So hopefully more aurora over the winter months
