Barney is an extremely handsome 14.2hh registered 2010 Connemara gelding by Ballyard Prince (Earl of Castlefrench) out of a Murphy Rebel mare. He has the sweetest temperament in and out of the stable, an absolute gentleman in every way. Barney is great to hack, not bothered by any traffic and goes alone, in company, in front , in the middle or at the back. He is not a plodder out hacking and goes forward nicely off your leg, a complete pleasure to tootle about the roads and through woodland with. Barney would also make a fabulous hunting pony, he is mannerly and safe and thoroughly enjoyed going out a few times with The Cheshire Drag Hunt last season, ridden by our own Aunty Kath who is a self-proclaimed 'non-jumper' and until she started riding Barney had never hunted, he behaved impeccably and jumped everything Aunty Kath pointed him at. Barney has also been on numerous farm rides, where he always behaves perfectly. He has been jumping cross country fences, coloured poles, ditches, hedges, and hunt rails quite happily and we are sure he would love a go at some hunter trials this summer. He will walk, trot, canter and pop a fence in the school, although we don't do much schooling with him as he's far too much fun to take out and about. He has also been to an indoor clear round training show where he again behaved superbly. Barney is great to load, travel, farrier etc. We have only clipped him once down his neck and chest and although he wasn't overly keen he didn't do anything dramatic or naughty. During a routine vet check last year it was discovered that Barney has a cataract in his left eye, although this is something for a prospective buyer to be aware of please do not let it put you off coming to try this wonderful pony. It does not affect him in any way with his hacking, jumping and hunting and it shouldn't stop him from doing low level competition.

Rising 4yr old Bonny the Conni. First time in the sand school and it was so clear to see that all the hacking and riding in the field since she's been backed has paid dividends. FOR SALE AT ROXLAN STUD - BONNY is a super 2013 (3yr old) registered pure bred 148cm Connemara mare. Bred to jump by the superior Connemara Stallion Rhinstroem's Mighty Man out of Carnaween Silver (AKA Cassie, who was also produced and sold by Roxlan Stud and is now competing BS and hunting with teenage girl)
This lovely young mare is a traditional and solid stamp, showing a super attitude to everything asked of her. Currently hacking out alone and in company, being ridden in open fields and popping a few fences, showing super technique in front and behind. Fabulous to clip.
