- Bob Marley

Introduction and Overview…

I'd like to introduce to you integrARTy, an inclusive, community oriented theatre company that I am presently sowing the seeds for. Creatively shaping

the new beginnings of integrARTy, my present aims as a facilitator are to adopt a dynamic, organic, people-centred approach that encourages self awareness, assisting people from all walks of life to form a greater connection to others and their environments. integrARTy intends to approach creativity through exploration and play, as well as through a fusion of mediums (using personal interests such as drama, yoga, meditation, cooking, dancing, craft making amongst anything else participants bring with them). integrARTy aims to work in a way that promotes an experiential, experimental approach to group creation that allows freedom and self acceptance to be stimulated, trusting that participants will develop some form of self discovery work that is worthy of cultivating and sharing. intergrARTy intends to make community cohesion and well-being its main focus; running projects in liaison with local community groups, collaborating with education settings, charities and outreach projects.

You’ve been summoned to join a jury service like no other as The Reach Out Project presents ‘Saint Town’, a fresh gritty tale devised from scratch by the young artists of Mitcham’s community youth theatre, where you help to decide the fate of the characters.

In the heart of Mitcham, we follow Dwayne, Demi, Lily and Jay as their desire to be accepted leads them to some tricky choices as a result of the gang presence on their estate, and ultimately to a brutal consequence that no one could’ve predicted... But when you are with your friends and you are about to do something you know is wrong how do you pluck up the courage to say no?

In response to the question ‘What do you want to speak to your community about?’ The ReachOut Project members wanted to tell a story of ‘how to avoid following the wrong crowd’. Through the creation of scenes, characters and establishing a narrative, the group have gone on an exciting journey to portray real issues and the complexities involved in young people making healthy choices and decisions. Ultimately, their actions wind them up in a serious consequence that lands them in court.

So here it is, you've been summoned for jury service. Our performance will culminate in an interactive element that’ll involve the audience in the discussion. As the decision must be made who’s innocent and who’s guilty?

We’re looking for a community audience to attend the production, next Friday 16th January at 7pm at the St Mark’s Family Centre in Mitcham. Tickets are £2 and can be booked by emailing [email protected] or calling Lorraine Keene (Artistic Director) on 079 0695 0695, or just turn up at the door!

Great session yesterday, got our teeth stuck into some interesting scenes, plenty of scope for discovery and exploration into some gritty and deep themes. Really proud of the group's maturity and the scope of ideas and suggestions. Looking forward to the term ahead in preparation for our next community performance in December :)

The ReachOut Project are proud to present a preview of 'Your Story is My Story' by Mitcham's community youth theatre company. Facilitated by a local and Mitcham based team, with young people from Mitcham and surrounding boroughs, and a connection to Mitcham based Asylum Welcome charity for young migrants and refugees, we're very much a positive sign of community cohesion and would love to welcome more of the community to share the journey with us.

We look forward to seeing you next Monday 21st July, 4.50pm at St Marks Family Centre, Mitcham Town Centre

ReachOut Project participants are invited to get involved with this next Wednesday :)

Groundwork and Wheelhouse Productions have partnered up to deliver a community film making project – ‘Reflecting the Wandle’, which will see the production of a film that tells the enchanting story of the river Wandle.

‘Reflecting the Wandle’ will involve the local community to design, create and participate in the film. This is a great opportunity for amateur actors, budding camera-people or a designer’s eye for set and props, or generally anybody that would like to volunteer to be involved in the process of making the film. We need your help to bring the Wandle to life!

We are inviting you to a meeting at the St Marks Family Centre this Wednesday 21st May at 7pm to discuss how you can be involved and to hold a space for you to share your ideas about how the film could be made. Click on the photo for more info.

It would be great if you could let Lorraine know that you will be making the meeting via email to [email protected]. Please feel welcome to forward this message on to relevant contacts and friends.

Many thanks, we look forward to seeing you there!
