IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR BRITISH RESIDENTS IN SPAIN:

We are urging all British nationals resident in Spain to get check their ID, following new information that the old Green Certificate will not be recognised by the EU’s Entry Exit System.

Anyone attempting to enter Spain or another EU country with a Green Certificate will find that their document is not accepted as valid proof of residency, and may be wrongly accused of overstaying in the EU. This could lead to them being denied entry and returned to the UK.

The only way for British residents in Spain to be exempt from registering with the EES and guarantee their smooth entry into Spain is with a TIE. If you haven’t already, please get a TIE now before EES comes into force later this year.
