Derick
K. Grant's accomplished career as a tap dancer, choreographer, and director spans more than three decades. He was an original company member and Dance Captain for Bring In ‘Da Noise, Bring In ‘Da Funk at The Public Theater and on Broadway. On the show's first national tour, Derick starred in the role of ‘da beat. He created the critically acclaimed show Imagine Tap! and was appointed as the Co-Artistic Director of Chicago Human Rhythm Project's Rhythm World Summer Festival. His choreography has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance. Derick has also performed and recorded with Grammy Award winner Dan Zanes. Derick serves as a national tap spokesperson for So Danca and performs for audiences around the world. He is devoted to the future of tap and is thrilled that 151 RED is a part of it. RONxII (Ron Ron) is one of the most sought after tap dancers in Japan. He's been entertaining audiences for over 20 years and is highly regarded as a choreographer, actor, director, producer, and teacher. In 2003, he performed in the internationally acclaimed film Zatoichi by director Takeshi Kitano. RONxII has produced and directed Tap & Dance Tokyo Collection since 2008. For the past several years, he has co-produced and performed in Revo Trap and HALE to KE for sold-out audiences throughout Japan. He has also performed with Orquesta Libre since 2012 and recently joined them in Plays Duke Ellington Europe Tour. RONxII is excited to bring his passion and unique perspective on classic tap to 151 RED. Keep your eyes on Emma Wylie as this young protégé brings her extraordinary talent and love for dance to 151 RED. Emma is an emerging presence in the tap community. She has won numerous competitions and awards such as the Diane Walker Award for Classiest Dancer in 2011, the Gregory Hines Award for Best Performance in 2012, and the Jimmy Slide Award for Outstanding Musicality in 2014. Most recently, Emma performed in the piece Buzzcut Season from the American Tap Dance Foundation's show Rhythm in Motion. Follow Us:
