Fraudulent Use of Gold Research, Inc. Identity and Staff!
The Gold Research, Inc. name, logo, address, and staff have been fraudulently used in an email survey scam that is
attempting to collect personal information from people. Be advised that Gold Research, Inc. and its entire
staff team are NOT INVOLVED in this scam, nor do we endorse any activity that is using our corporate
brand identity for purported survey purposes.
The fraud appears to have originated where people are receiving an email asking for their opinions on Walmart, Netflix, and other top brands. The email then goes on to state that if you provide your feedback and enter your credit card details, you would be eligible for cash rewards. These surveys are NOT associated with Gold Research, nor has Gold Research authorized such surveys for any purpose.
If you have provided your personal information to these scammers, the next step is that you will receive an
unsolicited check in the mail for a substantial amount of money. The scammers provide some kind of
instructions or next steps that involve you cashing that check and making purchases. DO NOT CASH THAT
CHECK. MAKE NO PURCHASES. HAVE NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION with these scammers.
To protect yourself, do the following:
1. Contact the Customer Support of the email service from which you received the survey and report this fraudulent activity
2. Go to your local post office to file a mail fraud case
3. Contact the USPS Inspector General to report this mail fraud
4. Have no further communications with the scammers
5. Do not provide any further personal information like cell phone numbers, text messages, etc.
6. Do not cash any checks; make no purchases
7. Take appropriate steps to ensure that your passwords and financial accounts are secure.
