Wowzers! It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly 10 years since Best Coast Biking first came into existence. And what a ride it’s been!! 🚲
We had an awesome five years in business, and since then, the website has served as a valuable resource for thousands of riders independently biking the best coast. 😎🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚴
Sadly, BCB’s domain and hosting renewal are up, and it looks like we won’t be able to continue maintaining our website unless we get enough donations. Can you help??
If our site, content, or expert advice has inspired you in the past, please consider donating a small amount to help keep the site alive. There’s a link to our PayPal on our profile and below, and really, every dollar counts!!

Dear friends,

After 5 years of creating cycle touring adventures for travellers from around the world, we have decided to close Best Coast Biking.

While we will no longer outfit folx for adventures down the coast, the website will remain up as a resource for those looking to ride the pacific coast bike route. We’ll make our routes available for download, and donations will be accepted.

Alas, all things come to an end. We just hope our new beginning will encourage you to get out there and explore the world from your handlebars.

Thank you to all of our past riders and to our friends and family for your support. We’ll see you on the road 🙂🚴🏼‍♀️🚴🏽🚴🏾‍♂️🏕

To us, the best way to reflect, process, and refill is to do a little self care and go for a ride.
In order to take care of your community, you have to take care of yourself. While you’re out there demanding justice, protecting us against covid, and trying to keep your head up with the constant bombardment of this crazy reality, try to remember that.
The open road is healing. Ride on everyone ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼

The poppies are out and spring is here... If you have a bike, go enjoy some fresh air!
While we do our part to physically distance, we look forward to when we can get you back on the open road.
For now, our summer group rides are still on, and we plan to begin outfitting folks for independent tours as soon as state park campgrounds re-open.
Until then, stay healthy and follow your county’s public health recommendations! We’ll be here when this is all over.

“Let’s go biking in the clouds today,” he said.
Biking in the fog in California, and especially in the Bay, is a given for any bike tour down the coast. It’s also one of the most magical parts of each day.
Whether it’s when the morning fog burns off and you can see the ocean in all its bright blue glory, or it’s the end of the day and you see it rolling over the hills towards you, it’s a beautiful part of our landscape.

One of our favorite things to hear from riders when they finish their tour is how other bike tourers reacted to their gear. The most typical comment being, “You rented all that!?”
