After being forced to cancel at the last minute last year due to Covid restrictions (you must have heard about it. It's been on all the news)! The gang made their annual pilgrimage to Corrieview for the new year and it's good to have them back! Happy New Year!

The arrival of the digger you see signals the start of a new landscaped patio area and the end of an amazing season at Corrieview. We were a bit apprehensive opening up again in May but our guests have been amazing and very appreciative of the additional cleaning measures we put in place and have decided that now will be the norm. The barbecue hut again has been really popular with the added bonus of the great weather meaning many guests cooked inside and ate outside! The security light above the garage is always a popular nesting area and was home this year to a family of blackbirds and it was good to see the floral displays being frequented by lots of bees. All in all a very busy, exhausting and enjoyable year and a huge thank you to all the new and returning guests who made that possible. Oh and right on time for the third year running someone wanted to have a closer look at the fence and garden before deciding to book!

Halloween barbecue for our guests last night. Judging by the screams the surprise guest really was a surprise! Who would have thought adrenaline smelled like that!

Little bit of excitement here yesterday for the third year in a row. The third week in October is becoming a bit of a thing here with a steady stream of vehicles taking umbridge with our fence. Our fencing contractor now pays for his Autumn holiday on the strength of it. Yesterday's occupants on their way back home to Cornwall should certainly be buying a Euromillions ticket this week as their luck is most certainly in as ,in common with all the others, walked away without a scratch. Two brighter parts of the story and some bits of better luck for them is that we love Springers and we got to look after the lovely Millie when they were taken to hospital to be checked over and a very unusual last minute cancellation meant that on their return from hospital we were happy to hand over the keys to one of the lodges to let them chill out and regroup before their onward journey this morning. We've already booked the contractor for next year!

A lot of activity in the garden just now with Newborns testing out flight paths for the first time. This little guy lost his bearings and flew through the open front door and flew upstairs into my office!

Privileged to have the space usually occupied by Swallows playing host to a family of Blackbirds this year. Judging by the size of them and the amount of grub they’re tucking away We think flight practice is imminent!Luckily I spotted activity a few weeks ago and disconnected the light or we could have had fried eggs for breakfast!
