Cornucopia is set on a ridge overlooking the beautiful west coast beaches of St James, Barbados. It was built in the early 1980’s by a well-known local architect using natural coral stone. The house sits in 2 acres of beautiful, mature gardens and is four minutes drive from the beach. At the front of the house is the oldest polo field in the island (five more have been built in recent years) and t

o the west are spectacular views of the sea. The Polo Ridge is a private estate incorporating Holder’s House (home of the Kidd family) and Cornucopia is situated on a no through road. During the polo season (Dec - May approx) there are matches and practices featuring well-known personalities. From 2012 it opened for short-time rentals. It has a very homely feel with a large, open kitchen that over looks the garden and view. There are five air-conditioned bedrooms, all set around an octagonal shaped open courtyard. Four have full en-suite bathrooms. The fifth has an en-suite toilet and sink and connects to the master bedroom – ideal as a child’s room. There is an air-conditioned room with television, comfy sofas and office space. All other rooms are open to the wonderful Caribbean air, with two dining areas, and an inner and outer living area. There is a double sofa bed in the living room for that extra person. There is a local British house manager who can organise everything from car hire, childcare, restaurant bookings, boat hire, etc. FURTHER INFORMATION

Kitchen / Utility Room – Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas hob, coffee maker, washing machine, tumble drier, crockery, cutlery, glasses etc
