As we come to the end of the year, I thought I’d share some of my experiences.

This year has been lovely. I’ve had Janice’s company for another year filled with trips to the gym, board games, walks in the park, and coffee outings. She is a joy to be with, and we always have so much fun together.

I’ve continued to help Linda around her home and with a bit of shopping from time to time. Linda has been a long-term client of mine, and we’ve built up a wonderful relationship. I love going to see her.

I also make weekly visits to a couple of gentlemen, helping with their housework. They’ve been a pleasure to work for.

This year, I’ve had a couple of new clients as well. I’ve been making tea for one couple – and they’re still alive to tell the tale! I must be a better cook than I thought 😂.

I’ve also done some pop-in visits for an amazing lady who is just about to turn 99! She’s such an inspiration, and her stories have kept me thoroughly entertained.

Another new client of mine is someone I help to get out and about in the community and to her medical appointments. We’re building a lovely friendship, and she has a great sense of humor.

I truly enjoy my time with all of my clients. I feel so privileged to have a job that allows me to help people who’ve been dealt some tough cards but continue to face their challenges and live their best lives. I’m grateful to be part of the support they need.

This week, Janice and I visited the Museum of Making, a place where you can learn all sorts of things. However, the biggest lesson we learned was that neither of us can play table tennis!

I’m excited to share that with the addition of a new client requesting ten hours, I am now working at full capacity! I’m really looking forward to all the fun activities we’ll enjoy together and the friendships we will build.

Janice and I went to Alvaston Park after the gym yesterday. We got up close with the wildlife. Then Janice, in a rather smug manner, thrashed me at backgammon. This is me sulking after losing.

This week, I've kept busy with various activities. I've done some cleaning, taken Linda shopping, ordered items online for a customer, and visited Oakwood Woods, Staunton Harold, and Shipley Park. It's been quite a fun week. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

I visited the new café on Locko Road in Spondon—it's a lovely place! My customers and I enjoyed coffee and a board game there.

I also went to The Range and helped a lady choose a new picture for her lounge.

I hit the gym with Janice because, you know, use it or lose it.

I did some housework, including changing beds, and took some items to the charity shop to help a customer declutter.

I've started making tea for a lovely couple who can't manage it on their own.

Yesterday, I tookJanice to the hairdressers.

I love the variety of jobs I do for all my wonderful clients.

We are now available to offer a helping hand with your gardening

This year, I've had the privilege of caring for and assisting some wonderful individuals, making my job really fulfilling and enjoyable.

One of my long-time clients is Janice, with whom I've shared over 5 years. Janice faces challenges with MS and relies on a wheelchair. Our outings to the gym, shopping, national trust sites, and cafes are always filled with laughter. We have a great friendship! This Christmas, I had the joy of spending a couple of hours with her on the day, creating special memories together.

Another remarkable person I've had the honor of working with for nearly 2 years is Nicki. Facing significant physical limitations, being almost paralyzed from the neck down, and struggling with speech, Nicki never fails to welcome me with a cheerful smile. I accompany her on shopping trips, to the cinema, and take her out on walks. I also feed her and help her around her home. I occasionally take her autistic son out for visits to places like the silk museum and lunch outings.

Linda, one of my earliest clients, and I have developed a lovely friendship over the past 8 years. My responsibilities for Linda include housework and shopping, and our time together is always filled with nice chats and laughter. We are good friends.

I also provide support to Brian and John, both of whom warmly welcome me into their homes, where I assist with household tasks.

I consider myself fortunate to be able to offer support to these incredible individuals. Each day brings new opportunities for learning and finding ways to enhance the support I provide.
