Galaxy Adventure Mustang Trek
Mustang remote and forbidden until 1991, the trek in to the kingdom of Mustang is an unforgettable experience, lying behind the main mountain in the rain shadow area; Mustang is at the north of Jomsom and Pokhara. In the capital of Lomanthang an old walled town, undisturbed and untouched civilisation life goes on as it has for centuries. There are numerous Gompas and prayers flags performing internal ritual. A trip into Mustang is bound to be one of self-realization inspired by the all-encompassing teaching of Tibetan Buddhism.Recognizing the special nature of this old, tiny kingdom, the Nepalese have imposed a surcharge for anyone wishing to trek past Kagbeni, the border of Upper Mustang. With legal trekking groups only being allowed in for the first time in March 1992, you would be part of a small privileged minority to visit this remote outpost of Nepal. Mustang is the old kingdom of Lo. Actually the capital of the Mustang district is Jomsom, but the real Tibetan-style district lies north of Kagbeni and is usually referred to as Upper Mustang. The real capital, Lo Manthang, where the present king lives, is a fantastic square-walled town sitting on the ‘Plain of Prayers’. Mustang has an average elevation of 13,200ft/4,023m and is located to the north of the mountain giants of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna and is therefore north of the main Himalayan range and geographically is part of the highlands of Tibet. It is a vast high arid valley, characterized by eroded canyons, colorful stratified rock formations and has a barren, desert like appearance.

MERA PEAK CLIMBING
Mera Peak, located at an altitude of 6,476 m is the highest permitted trekking peak of Nepal. It stands to the south of Everest and dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded valleys of the Hinku and Hongu Drangkas. J.O.M. Roberts and Sen Tenzing during a reconnaissance of the Hinku and Hongu valleys made the first successful ascent of Mera Peak on 20 May 1953. The route they used is still the standard route. While there are many other routes to the peak, none of them are easy and some of them require the crossing of very high and difficult passes. This complexity also leads to a true mountaineering experience. In the end, all efforts and hard work is paid off with spectacular scenery, as Mera provides one of the finest Himalayan viewpoints in Nepal. Mera Peak offers a panoramic view of Chamlang, Kangchenjunga, Makalu, and Baruntse in the east and the peaks of Cho-Oyu, Ama Dablam and Kangtega to the west. Mt.Everest can be viewed to the north over the massive unclimbed south face of Lhotse and the Nuptse/Lhotse ridge. Under favorable conditions, it is possible to climb the peak and descend back on the same day.

JOMSOM MUKTINATH TREK
Jomsom Muktinath trek is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna Region. It is reputed in Nepalese as a skyline trek and Jomsom is also known as New Fort or Dzongsam. It is essentially the final third part of Annapurna Circuit trek where trekkers can experience the natural diversity at its finest. There are actually two routes in Jomsom Muktinath trek. Trekkers can either catch a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and trek up to Muktinath or they can start the trek from Nayapul trekking through Ghorepani, Tatopani, Marpha , Jomsom and ascend further to kagbeni before descending to Muktinath. Both trails offer a fantastic experience of natural vistas. Though starting the trek from nayapul can be a prolonged and tougher journey, trekkers soon forget there tiresomeness by the beauty of this panoramically rich trail. Lush green terraced paddy fields, fairly dense rhododendron covered forest with exceptional views of Himalayas and landscapes (Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, hiunchuli, machhapuchre) from ghorepani, relinquishing the tired feet’s at the hot springs of tatopani, sipping a traditional apple brandy made from finest apples which is sure to give the tired spirits some fresh vigor in marpha and the thrill of walking on the deepest gorge of the world, Kali Gandaki Gorge where one can find the fossilized ammonites, locally known as shaligrams on the river bed with cool wind of Jomsom and fascinating view of Mt. Nilgiri wiping the sweat away, trekkers are already captivated by the time they hit the holy trail of Muktinath. Muktinath (3800m/12,464 ft.) has been a religious and spiritual site for Hindu and Buddhist for generations. For Hindus it has been a pilgrimage site, a place for salvation. There are 108 stone tap waterfalls and it is believed that washing in water of Muktinath assure salvation after death. For Buddhists, Muktinath is a place where great sage Guru Rinpoche (padmasambhava) meditated. The whole place has a sense of peaceful and spiritual feeling about it. Jomsom Muktinath trekking can be a truly spiritual and scenic journey for the trekkers.
