Great footage of Allegra mid Atlantic travelling at up to 30 knots with some inspired words from Paul Larson. Nigel Irens created an amazing catamaran here, such a shame that we lost Green Marine as this demonstrates the talent available in the UK. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to sail on her and then working with the same team on the Vantage 86 project.

If you've got a spare €9M knocking around and want to sail 8 mates around at over 20 knots then Allures can do this and is now up for sale. Originally built as a Blubay 102 in in 2006, she was the fastest and largest carbon catamaran at the time. Weighing in at under 55t she is powered by cuben sails on a rotating mast (which she lost in a tragic accident in 2011). Engines are 355hp each side and she has a motoring range of 1000nm.

With Sunreefs order books overstuffed this move probably makes sense even though the need for another power cat with a mast and a couple of solar panels to hint at some eco credentials could be questioned.

This is our latest build. We oversaw the project from initial spec layout right through to delivery to Puerto Rico for start of charter career. Being only a couple of hours travel from the Sunreef factory we were an effective 'Atlantic Bridge' for the the owner and broker. Everyone involved is delighted, she is an awesome boat!

We worked on the initial pre build plan for Mousetrap with the owner to help him and his team understand the commercial operation of a large crewed catamaran. She an amazing boat!

The 34m JFA yacht Mousetrap has entered the market for the first time. Mousetrap is one of the largest carbon-fibre catamarans in the world.

HH52: When you realise your current 50 footer is pretty ugly and go back to the drawing board having looked at a few french boats. Let's hope they don't succomb to pressure from the wallets of the uninformed and slap a flybridge on this one.

This is excellent! Our only additional thought is that the underlying stress on standing rigging and boat structure needs to be addressed. It’s a real issue for the bulkhead popping cruising cats out there.

This week we’ve been assisting sea trials on a Catana 53. Already a benchmark in world cruising this boat has been turbocharged with 3D sails. These have added rig stability and sail rigidity meaning all the extra power goes in the right direction. The boat is super stiff and precise on the helm, with daggerboards adding navigation accuracy but the option to lift for safety. The coffee sat happily on the table while storming along at up to 22 knots in this short clip, notice how composed the boat is, a quiet salon with no creaks or groans. We’re delighted with what we specified and how well the yard have put this together. A true GT, well done Catana!

Our sister company has introduced eFoils into the UK. These are an electrically powered foiling surfboard that will run at speeds of 20-30 knots for over an hour. Guess what. We’re about to sail Greta Thunberg across the Atlantic. 3200nm, with captain Riley and crew Nikki Henderson (and of course Lenny). A spontaneous decision to move our home across the other side of the ocean, but I mean we love Europe so we’re looking forward to some Caldo Verde upon arrival 🍵.
