Khatauli (Hindi: खतौली) is a town in Muzaffarnagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located on NH 58 between Muzaffarnagar (24 km) and Meerut (36 km). Khatauli lies on the National Highway 58 which is an important route for trade and commerce and also a main route for the many Hindu pilgrim places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath and many hill stations like Dehrad

Khatauli has a sugar mill which is the biggest sugar mill in the Asia on the scale of production and storage capacity. Khatauli is a big rural town and some tourist attractions. Since it is located on the banks of the upper Ganges canal, this is the main attraction here. there has nine Jain Temples in the town. Sugar Mill Khatauli

Khatauli sugar mill fulfills the sugar demand of the states like Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal etc. Cheetal
There are two motels located on the Gange Canal, that are more famous than Khatauli. First one is "Cheetal", with Deer Park adjacent to Ganga Canal run by the UP Forest Department. The second motel which is a bit away from the canal is "Cheetal Grand", owned by local businessmen Rana brothers, established in 1992.[1][2] In February 2011, Rocky Singh & Mayur Sharma, of the show Highway on my plate on NDTV Good Times named Cheetal Grand as one of the top 7 roadside joints in India.[3] The management of Cheetal Grand have started constructing a second unit of motel situated at the bypass of Khatauli. The above two places attract lot of travelers from NH 58. There are only 2 hotel facilities to stay in Khatauli itself. Rath Yatra[edit]
On the occasion of Holi, a rath yatra is organised every year in memory of Krishna devotee Pandit Jayanti Prasad Sharma, founder of Sri Krishna Samkirtana Bhawan (Geeta Bhawan). Every year a famous carnival is organised by local authorities which is popularly known as 'Mela Chhadiyan' or 'Chhadiyon ka Mela'. The carnival is also known as Mela Shravni. This carnival usually begins in the last week of August (on Raksha Bandhan). The carnival is organised is honour of Goga Jaharveer who, as per the [folktales], is the king of snakes and is also known as Jahar Diwan. The carnival is famous for its joy rides, shopping stalls and food stalls. References
