In May 2022 we had the pleasure to travel back to one of the top destinations IN THE WORLD, Bali Indonesia. After two years of strict quarantine guidelines, on March 7, 2022 Bali officially reopened and dropped the quarantine requirements. Besides a PCR test administered 72 hours prior to departure with a negative result, we were able to enjoy and explore the island freely for 12 days. Shirley Chisholm once said “𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳.” Here at 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 we no longer wanted to bring a folding chair to their table, we decided to just build our own table. Understanding the importance and impact of representation our solution was to create a safe space where working class black and brown people, females, LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized groups can receive curated travel experiences, quality travel content, advice and inspiration. We are firm believers that visibility creates believability. We aim to represent for the underrepresented brown and black working class traveling demographic in mainstream travel that doesn’t get recognized, but are valuable customers in the travel industry. We want to amplify those voices. We want to be the guide and gateway to exposing more black and brown people to new experiences and new destinations while also helping to bring representation through social media content and marketing.
