The very first heart shape I ever found was foraging seaweed in the waters somewhere in Ebeltoft. That first heart snowballed to hearts popping up in the most amazing places. But the first time will always be the most memorable one 😁❤️🥳

Painting these four tiny canvases was such a delight.

Little floral abstracts.

I let them hang out in the studio after they were done. Moving them from one corner, to a shelf, then the table. I thought… I’ll make them travel… around the room 😂

One rainy day, I forgot to close the window and ran up 3 flights to check on them 🌧

It’s ok, they’re all fine. (Whew!)

Earlier this month, one of them left the nest.

Where did she go?

How time flies ⏰😮

I haven’t been back to guiding travel clients since March 2020 😱

But the good news is, this made me think about the other stuff I love to do, wanted to try or was just curious about.

There was time to
🌳 walk and observe nature without listening to music or chatting with anyone. Nobody here but the trees and me 😆
🥬 visit organic markets 🥬 and eat flowers 🌼😁 (note to self: remember to bring your wallet 👻)
🎨 let go and paint (sometimes, I stare at a blank canvas 👀)
📝 and learn more things about windmills (they’re pretty amazing)!

This world situation has left the travel industry at a standstill. 🌎 I stayed home for 2 travel seasons. (Whaaat??! 😮 Time flies!)

Despite what the world is going through, this is the best time to reconnect with loved ones and with ourselves. Make the time to do what you love, even if it means going out of your comfort zone.

These are a few of my favorite things 🎶

Drop everything and take a walk. This is what I tell myself (on sunny days 😊)

The fresh air clears the mind, the sun caresses one’s spirit, the trees tower above and the wild flowers? Don’t they dance so gracefully? And the chicken… they cross the road just because 😁

This walk culminates at a tiny chapel surrounded by farms and fields.

People from far and near drop by and say a little prayer 🎶🙏❤️

Nightingales are said to represent creativity. This little bird showed up after a few minutes of painting and ripping paper during an early morning art moment 🎶

Months at home...

She’s completed spring cleaning (in fall sshh), created art from paints and pencils her sons used back in elementary school and curated every item in the attic whispering thank you to each of them — some put back in place, some in a new spot and some to an unknown destination.

From left to right...
- If you can't go to Paris, just draw one of your highlights and scribble some memories on it.
- Fellow artist, Margo, took me around Brittany in... 2018. Apple cider, anyone?
- Some free time to draw faces in a small notebook.
- Taking a walk in Amsterdam.
- This painting joined an exhibit in Rome earlier this year.
