WILDLIFE INFO.

Did you know Murcia holds a collection of animals not found anywhere else? Because its area overlaps with Mt. Kanlaon National Park, it is home to many different species.

Flying foxes flock over mountainous regions. They range from small fruit bats like the little golden-mantled flying fox to megabats
like the giant golden-crowned flying fox, one of the largest in the world.

Bats can act as pollinators and seed dispersers, helping plants grow where they live. They also produce guano, a nitrogen-and-phosphate-rich substance that acts as a natural fertilizer.
Other species that can be found include the Visayan Warty Pig, the Negros Bleeding-heart Pigeon, and the Tarictic Hornbill.

While deforestation and hunting have greatly impacted the animal population here, they are now protected thanks to wildlife conservation efforts.

Only a short ride from Bacolod. Hilltop Restobar, found here in Murcia, offers a place away from the city with a nice, quiet ambience for a chill experience. You can eat inside or outdoors according to your liking.
There is a wide selection of choices from the menu. From meals like sisig, spareribs, crispy pata to pasta, burgers and fries, and even ice cream made in-house.

For the best experience, come in the late afternoon when the heat has died down and cool winds blow all across the fields and trees. The views of the surrounding mountains are a sight to behold and looks especially good near sunset under an orange/pink sky.

A beautiful and lush mountain resort just 20 kilometers away from Bacolod City in Negros Occidental. Originally a bathhouse and picnic garden designed by Japanese architect Kokichi Paul Ishiwata in 1927, it is now one of the landmark tourist destinations in the province. Take part in a nature-filled adventure complete with cool waterfalls, a colorful butterfly garden, canoeing, and more!!!

When the fun is done and it's time to settle down and rewind, native delicacies await your taste buds or even a visit to the famous hot springs and Ishatawa Bathhouse to relax your body and mind.
In addition, Mambukal Resort famously serves as a home to a large fruit bat population, which can be seen soaring the skies all over the mountain. Different species are present and they are protected from hunting as national treasures.
