a mossy, moody, & much needed weekend away on Vancouver Island 🇨🇦

We couldn't make it back to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving this year and instead spent the extra long weekend roadtripping our way around Vancouver Island, trying our hand at cold water surfing, hiking in temperate rainforest, taking long, rainy walks on the beach, tidepooling, and just hanging out and enjoying excellent meals, drinks, and spending time by the ocean. 🌊

I can't say I recommend skipping holidays.. but Vancouver Island was the place to do it 💕

when the girls trip makes it out of the chat 👌

and I had the MOST PERFECT trip to last month: 25 miles of epic hiking, gorgeous views of Rainier from every angle, absolutely perfect weather and clear skies (a rarity!), and a steady stream of reward snacks and wine to keep us motivated everyday. 🍻

The only thing that was missing was access to a shower - my bad! 😂

living life on the edge (of Victoria Falls) 🌈

spending the afternoon hanging out and swimming on the LITERAL edge of the largest waterfall in the world was one of the craziest and coolest experiences of my entire life. I can't even believe we did that.. it still doesn't feel real. 🤯

Special shout out to for getting me to the edge as I grappled with a million and one internal and external emotions of feae, anxiety, and fomo 😅 and to the lovely for the most incredible surprise visit during our stay 👌

Throwback to the most magical few days spent along the Zambezi River 💕

Highlights included (but not limited to) staying at 's most perfect island tree house and villa, spotting hippos & warthogs from our room, cooling off in our plunge pool, sundowning on a sunset cruises, and enjoying every incredible meal with a view. 🌅
