This fabulous local business offers seafood galore through their brand new front of house restaurant in downtown Bar Harbor (open year round!) and their adjoining seafood market where you can buy a variety of fresh seafood offerings to take home and cook on your own. We loved the creative menu, great bar selections, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend a stop into the spot when you visit Acadia, anytime of year!

Savoring the last bits of fall foliage 🍂 At Long Pond, one of Acadia’s most gorgeous spots, there are a lot of ways to go and explore. One great way is to via Beech West Ridge Trail. This hike boats Sunset lake views, forests of beech, birch and pine, and a rewarding walk up to Beech Mountain for its own grand views of the ocean. A perfect excursion in Southwest Harbor anytime of year!

Our local farmstand in Bar Harbor! We stopped by the other day and they had the most beautiful array of fall veggies in abundance. This farmstand is cute as a button and has been an amazing source for fresh local produce on the island. A must-stop-by spot when visiting MDI and Acadia!

Fall in Acadia has officially begun 🍁🎃🍂🌻🍁

One of the most gorgeous times of year to visit Maine and explore Acadia National Park! Beautiful sunny days with breezy temps and foliage galore. Over here at Southwest Harbor Hideaway, we stock up on colorful gourds and pumpkins from local farms and also mark the end of our neighborhood flower stand who supplies breathtaking bouquets for our guests to enjoy all summer long. Just one more month til we close up Southwest Harbor Hideaway for the season and begin winter off- season rentals at Poet’s Cabin for our lowest prices if the year. But for the next few weeks we’ll enjoy watching our glorious surroundings change color all around us!

Our very own winery, right on MDI, Bar Harbor Cellars at Sweet Pea Farm makes beautiful wines ranging from whites and roses to reds and fruited wines. If there are any wine lovers in your group when you come to visit Acadia, don’t miss stopping here for a flight of small pours to try all of their varietals! Shhhh! Don’t tell, but Seal Cove is one of our favorite (semi-secret) sunset spots on Mount Desert Island! Since it’s not part of Acadia National Park and is located a bit off the beaten path in Tremont, Seal Cove draw significantly fewer visitors compared to many spots on the island, despite its direct sunset view over the ocean.
