Confession…I’ve traveled the world, but I have never been on a cruise. Hear me out…when we travel, we like to move around, chill with the locals and not do all of the touristy things. But I think it’s time for my first cruise. 🛳️✈️🏖️

So recently we traveled to one of our favorite places Tulum, Mexico. We’ve been several times so when we do go, it’s strictly for R&R. If I’m being honest, every time that we travel, we never plan ahead. This typically has a huge impact on the cost of flights. Spring break was still in full effect, therefore the price for last minute flights on the major airlines were ranging from $2000-2200. There was no way I was going to pay that kind of money to go anywhere that I’ve been several times. 🤣 So, I searched around and boom I found a less expensive route. We flew from CVG to MIA round trip Frontier (for a little less than $500). We then took a Uber from MIA to Fort Lauderdale ($50) where we stayed the night at a Marriott hotel near the Fort Lauderdale airport ($150). We caught the hotel shuttle to the airport and flew Spirit ($455 round trip) to Cancun. Once we landed in Cancun, we took the ADO (local bus $26) to Tulum.

We opted to stay in an Airbnb in Tuk Tulum, a new construction area that we had not stayed in before (5 days $345). The location was perfect as it was directly across the street from the local grocery store. The place itself is nice (pictures below). It has a restaurant, rooftop pool and gym (a plus for him) on the property. This was our first time staying in an Airbnb with a stove in Tulum so we opted to cook breakfast a couple of days. We rented bikes and rode them everywhere. I even fell once or twice, hell who was even counting? 🥴🤣 We ate off of the local taco truck several times each day (clearly our favorite). 5 chicken tacos and a drink for about $6 beats any taco Tuesday here. 🤣 We finally gave in and went to one of the beach clubs. Entry was $250 and they gave us a credit of $2000 pesos which went towards food and drinks. Out of pocket we ended up only paying about $40 more. It was a nice experience but it’s not something that I would ever feel the need to do again.

We had an early morning flight home, so we had to schedule a taxi to the airport which cost $100. I picked return flights back with enough time to get us from FLL to MIA without a long wait between.

Overall as always, we enjoyed our stay in Tulum. Just a friendly reminder, we all know not to drink the water in Mexico but that also goes for brushing your teeth. 🗣️🗣️🗣️USE BOTTLED WATER! I’m guessing since we stayed in new construction that the quality of water wasn’t good. We’ve never had any issues before but somehow we contracted Shigella. 🤢🤢 Lesson learned!

Travel Tip Friday…🗣️🗣️🗣️JUST TRAVEL! I don’t care where you go, JUST GO! There is so much of the world out there to see. What are you waiting on?

08/03/2023

Travel Tip Wednesday…it’s always smart to check the travel advisory for any country that you visit. With the most recent kidnappings it is imperative to understand that the Mexican cities that border the US have been considered unsafe FOR MANY YEARS because of the drug cartel. This is nothing NEW! It is still safe to travel to Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta and most of the other cities that we typically vacation. Remember to always stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings no matter where you are traveling! Happy Travels! 😊

07/03/2023

Travel Tip Tuesday…live a life where you can say, “I can’t believe I did that,” instead of “I wish I did that.” 🥰

This is the part of Africa that they don’t show us on TV. Diani Beach in Kenya. You have to see it for yourself! 😍🥰

Travel Tip Friday: I really don’t know what y’all are waiting on to get a passport but the turnaround time has increased yet again. 🙄 With that being said, STOP WAITING! The standard delivery turnaround time is 8-11 weeks. Expedited delivery turnaround time is 5-7 weeks. So if you’re thinking about taking that summer vacation out of the country, now is the time to get your passport if you don’t have one or if it needs to be renewed. 🤗

Travel Tip Tuesday…May 3, 2023 is the deadline to have a federal compliant ID to fly commercial within the US without a passport. Make sure you’re prepared!

04/10/2022

Travel Tip Tuesday…it’s hurricane season and if you’re traveling make sure not to forget your emergency credit card or emergency funds for those unexpected expenses (extra days, delayed flights). It’s always best to be prepared! 😊

16/09/2022

Travel Tip Friday…let’s talk about savings. We all know that the cost of flights have increased.🙄 When is the cheapest day to book flights? 🤔 I’m glad you asked. 😊 Saturdays and Sundays are when flights are usually the cheapest. The cheapest day to fly out is typically Tuesdays and the cheapest time is usually 6am-12pm. So who’s ready to book tomorrow?! 😊 🤗

23/08/2022

Travel tip Tuesday…let’s talk upgrades. Don’t be hesitant to ask for an upgrade when you’re checking in for your flight or hotel stay. If the flight or hotel isn’t fully booked, they may accommodate you. Just be super nice. 🤗 💕 ✈️🌏

18/08/2022

Travel tip Thursday….cruise lines are finally starting to lift Covid 19 guidelines. Those of you who are unvaccinated are finally being welcomed back aboard some cruise lines. No more testing requirements for those who are vaccinated. If you’re ready to board, make sure you book with JusTravel & Company LLC! 😊

16/08/2022

Travel Tip Tuesday…if you book your flight with one airline but you find a cheaper price within 24hrs, you can cancel your reservation and get a full refund without any fees. You can thank the federal law for this one. 😊 😘

02/08/2022

Travel Tip Tuesday…did you know that you may have travel insurance set up or available through your credit card? Travel insurance can cover a variety of things, including cancelled flights and injuries. Make sure to check with your credit card company to see what they offer or purchase it separately. 😊

Although we love the “long” vacations, we definitely understand that not everyone can always get away for a extended period of time. Did you know that we book weekend getaways too?! So whenever you’re ready to just get away, make sure you reach out to us. We would love to plan your next trip! 😊

Recently we took a vacation to Tampa, Fl. Although we traveled there too many times to keep count, we always seem to have a blast. I’ll share our experience.

We flew on a evening Frontier flight from CVG to TPA. I know I’ve stressed early flights but for $118 per person round trip, we couldn’t pass it up. Many people do not like Frontier, however for the price, it works for us on flights that are 2 hours or less. We’ve never had any major issues.

We typically stay in Airbnb’s anywhere we travel so it was only right for me to book with my bestie Nelly Strong! Whewwww chileeeee…it was the best decision ever! From check in to check out, we felt at home. We actually joked about staying and just paying a monthly rent! That’s how much her place feels like home! Very spacious, clean, inviting and overall welcoming! Oh and don’t let me forget to mention the pool! 🙌🏽 Centrally located near several groceries stores, restaurants, shopping and the adult beverage store (🤗). Book with the bestie if you’re traveling to Tampa!

Although there are several beaches in the area, we spent most of our time at Clearwater Beach. If you want to rent tents and chairs I recommend getting there early to get front row seats. Parking in Clearwater is horrendous JMO. Some days we found parking in the lot, other days we found parking on the street. Make sure you pay at the pay stations or download the app. They do issue tickets.

Dining…being that this was just a quick getaway, I did cook breakfast at home several mornings and grilled for dinner one night. We also ate at The Brunchery (near the Airbnb) for breakfast which I highly recommend. While on the beach, we had lunch at Crabby’s Dockside which was also good. We had his birthday dinner at Fleming’s Steakhouse which is highly recommended for a fine dining experience. 7th And Grove is also recommended but you should have a reservation. We didn’t get to check out the club side of the restaurant but I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. I also heard that they have brunch on Sundays and it’s live.

All in all WE LOVE TAMPA!

‼️ Reposting..

Just some good advice for those who plan to travel this summer:

Flying this summer is ROUGH!!! I feel like as a Flight Attendant I should attempt to share some tips to get you through airline travel for the foreseeable future. ✈️✈️

1. Things are not good..... if its less than 7 hours - DRIVE! I'm not kidding. There is nothing enjoyable about flying right now. On any airline. If you must fly, keep reading. 🚗

2. Download and use the app of the airline you are flying. You can do everything on it - get your boarding pass, track your bags, see your incoming plane, and change a flight. It sure beats waiting in the long line to talk to an agent! Trust me - Usually these apps will tell you a flight is cancelled before the crew even knows! 📲

3. Fly MUCH earlier than you need to - a whole day early if its important!! This week I saw many people miss important things like weddings, funerals, cruises, international connections, and graduations. The tears were very real, for very real reasons, and there was nothing I could do! If you have to be somewhere, spend the extra money, go a day early. Have a glass of wine and stay in a hotel, enjoy your night not being stressed while everyone else misses their events. 🍷

4. ALWAYS fly the first flight in the morning so you have all day to be rebooked if the s**t hits the fan. Yes, that means it might be a 3:00 alarm, but morning flights don't cancel nearly as often.⏰

5. This is not unique to this year, but keep in mind summer is thunderstorm season. A single storm can shut down a whole airport. We can't fly through them. Storms usually build as the day gets later. Book early flights! ⛈

6. Schedule long layovers - Your 1 hour layover is NOT enough anymore. 30 minutes, not a chance. 3 hours minimum. 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

7. What you see on the news is an understatement. We are short staffed and overworked. Not just pilots and flight attendants, but also ground crews. Without ground crews there is no one to park the planes, drive jetways, get your bags on/off planes, or scan boarding passes. This causes many delays that snowball throughout the day. Sometimes HOURS.(Another reason morning flights are best!) 👀

8. When flight crews get delayed we time out. We can NOT fly longer than 16 hours. Its illegal. So it doesn't matter if you have a wedding to get to, when we are done we are done. The way things are now, there are no back up crews, so when this happens your flight cancels. (Now you are starting to see why those morning flights are best!) 😴

9. Avoid connecting in Newark. It is literal hell. You have a 50/50 chance your flight will cancel or missing your connection. They have been cancelling flights at their starting points just to keep the planes out of Newark because there just aren't enough people to manage the planes, so the gates stay full. Also the restaurants are expensive, it is not a great place to be stuck. 💩

10. Be nice. As stated above, we are overworked and tired. We will not help you if you are mean. No one cares that you are going to miss your cruise if you are an as***le. So even if we can help, we will save our help for someone nice. Tensions are high. Our patience is gone. If you make us mad - you will not be flying on our planes. We will leave you behind without a second thought, and laugh about you later. 🥰

11. Being drunk on an airplane is a federal offense, so don't overdo it. If you drink too much at the bar waiting for your delayed flight you risk not being allowed to fly at all. We are too tired to deal with your drunk ass when we have legitimate issues to deal with. 🍻

12. Get trip insurance if you have a lot of money invested. I hate the whole idea of this, but I also hate the idea of losing money. Example: I was working a flight yesterday that waited over an hour for a gate. A family of 8 missed their flight to Rome. The only flight of the day. They were going to a cruise which they would now miss. They were all crying, there was nothing I could do. (Also a reason to fly a day early!) 🛳

13. Flights are FULL. If you buy the cheap seats you will not be able to sit with your family. It says so when you purchase your ticket!! Flight Attendants aren't there to rearrange the whole plane just so you can sit with your family because you tried to save $100 on a third party website. 💸

14. Speaking of third party websites and saving money..... Like I said flights are FULL. If a flight is oversold, and no one volunteers to give up their seats, who do you think is the first to be bumped? You guessed it, the family that saved a few $$ by using sites like Expedia, Kayak, Hotwire etc. 🤷‍♀️

15. Pack smart. Don't be "That guy" Don't hold up boarding because you have your extenders open till they are busting and you can't figure out how to make it fit in the overhead. (Passengers are stressed too, they can be aggressive when boarding a delayed flight) 🛍

16. Take showers, brush your teeth, leave the perfume off, don't eat stinky food (caesar salad and tuna fish I'm talking to you!), and bring headphones. Trust me. These things sound basic, but add to stress on crowded planes. If you are stuck on the tarmac for 3 hours after a 4 hour flight, you will thank me for this. 💜

17. Bring a sweater if you tend to be cold. So tired of half naked girls asking me to turn the heat up. NO. Wear clothes!! Side note: If you dress like this and ask for heat, there's a chance I will turn the AC up. 🥶

18. Thats not water on the bathroom floor. For the love of God wear shoes to the bathroom!!! 🤮

19. Don't tell a Flight Attendant they look tired. We are and we know. You may cause us to ugly cry right there in galley. 😭

20. Happy Travels!
