A big hello from the Eurasian Collared-Dove😍

Sharing some identification tips of this backyard bird which is pretty common in the Indian Subcontinent

Please note: the id pointers are based on the way we would describe the bird

Instead of making the write up heavy with text we have tried to put some id tips of the bird as an informative image. Also added what the bird feeds on usually.
Habitat- usually once can find them in their backyard, on wires, urban and sub urban spaces where food is available

Hope you enjoy this bird and observe it around you

Happy Rainforest day!!
The theme for this year is "THE TIME IS NOW!"

Rainforests 🌳are 🌍's oldest living ecosystems 🏞️, with some surviving in their present form for at least 70 million years. They are incredibly diverse and complex, home 🏠 to more than half of the world’s plant 🌱and animal species 🐄🐃🐂🐅.

There are many rainforest aroujd the world 🌍. Rinforests thrive on every continent except Antarctica 🇦🇶.

These crucial habitats🏞️ are now suffering from devastating habitat loss ❌ and fragmentation across the tropics.

Today, we want to bring awareness🙌 to the current threats to rainforests 🌳so we can do our part in preventing further degradation.

Just like this juvenile right here, young birds that have never seen bugs before know how to catch and deal with them.

It has incredible flight combat skills (thanks to its long, pointed wings) and usually crushes the insect in flight to avoid being stung.

Before eating their prey, they remove the stinger and clean it by smashing it several times against a hard surface.

Osprey is a large raptor that can be found almost everywhere except Antartica. 🏔️
It usually nests around waterbodies as it feeds majorly on Fish! 🌊🐟

The osprey and owls are the only raptors whose outer toe is reversible, allowing them to grasp their prey with two toes in front and two behind.🦅

Today is World Otter Day!! 🦦

Every year, it is observed to celebrate 🎉 the existence of 🦦

There are 1️⃣3️⃣ different otter species in the 🗺, all of which are on the IUCN Red List of threatened species‼️

The goal of the day is to raise🤚 awareness about how important they are to the environment🍃, how they suffer as part of the illegal wildlife trade❌, and how much they need our help 🙌

They come in over 350 different species , with more than half of them being threatened 🚨 as per IUCN Red list of threatened species‼️

Happy World Tapir 🦡Day 🙌

A Tapir is a large herbivorous🌿 animal with a short, prehensile snout trunk that looks like a pig🐷. They can be found in South America, Central America🗺, and Southeast Asia's jungles & forests 🌳🌳

Tapirs have been on the planet 🌎 for nearly a million years, but many people are unaware that they are critically endangered⚠️ Some people have never even heard of a Tapir.🤔

As a result, today we are honouring all Tapirs around the world, with the goal of saving all members of this species from extinction and spreading awareness of their beauty❗
