They say if you want something you must put it out into the universe (or Instagram in this case).

I have been doing LOTS of self reflecting lately. It’s an odd place to be…uncertain of your decisions that you were once so certain of. But what I’m learning is that it’s ok to change and pivot…and GOOD to listen to your intuitions that tell you when it’s time…it’s ok that things do not look the way you thought and sometimes, the things that you were so certain of are simply vehicles to get you to next place.

Well, I turned 40 this week. 🫣 1:03am on July 5th, to be exact. It’s a strange feeling that came and went, but I’m still reflecting on my life at 40 and how it looks, where I am, where I've been, and where I’m about to be.

Adults have officially overtaken our home (our older two being 19 and 20), and our babies will both start high school next year. 😩

Brandon and I will celebrate 21 years of marriage in November. Crazy. We’ve literally grown up together and in 4 years we’ll be empty nesters! Then we get to party like most of you did in your 20s! 😆

And here I am beginning a career at the age of 40! It’s exciting, and some days I feel confident…not so much on other days, and almost every day I feel exhausted from trying to learn how to balance life.

But what would life be without change and challenges? So here’s to my 40s! To LOTS of changes and LOTS of challenges that will stretch me more than I know.

This picture was taken on a trip that my husband and I had together right before he left on a very unexpected year-long deployment. We rented a jeep for the day to drive on the coast of and came across this old church; the perfect place for our picnic lunch! The beaches were ours that day with not a soul in sight.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos of life and forget to take a moment for ourselves. But that's where travel comes in – it offers us a chance to escape from the busy routine and reconnect with what truly matters.

We are heading out this week for our family vacation and my goal is to be packed two days before. I'll let you know how it goes!

The hottest new hotel in Rome just opened last month, and they have availability for summer travelers! The is the first urban hotel by the Six Senses brand, and they managed to successfully combine their signature wellness offerings while keeping true to Roman history.

Guests can enjoy complimentary access to their Roman bath experience, freshly made gelato and juices, and beautiful 14th-century architecture all onsite.
